chapter 19 Car God ===

At this moment, Corentin lit a cigarette, one hand on the steering wheel and the other leisurely smoking. His foot continued to press down on the accelerator, and the speed kept climbing.
The Camaro and the Mazda intentionally slowed down, driving side by side, preparing to block the Passat and prevent it from overtaking. Corentin sneered, "They really have no shame."
On the three-lane road, the black car shadow could be seen drifting along the roadside guardrail. The rear of the car was almost about to hit the guardrail, but it grazed it with a stunning and jaw-dropping arc. With a roar, it directly surpassed the Mazda and the Camaro in front.
Brant's two followers opened their car windows, looking at each other with expressions of fear. Is this guy even human? He's a god of cars!
Even though the Porsche sports car accelerated quickly, reaching 100 miles per hour in 5 seconds, Brant was still afraid of death. With other cars ahead, he had no choice but to slow down.
At that moment, another black figure emerged, executing a beautiful drift, brushing past the Porsche. Brant was stunned, "Now that's called racing! He's amazing! Who is he?"
Thinking that if he lost, losing 15,000 dollars wouldn't matter, but having to kowtow to a security guard was absolutely impossible. Brant gritted his teeth and unwilling to accept defeat, pressed the accelerator a bit harder.
On the racetrack, Corentin would undoubtedly lose, but on the busy city streets, the average person couldn't possibly win against him. Beep beep! At this moment, Corentin heard the sound of a police siren. He looked in the rearview mirror and saw a motorcycle police officer quickly following behind Brant. Even though the officer was wearing a helmet and couldn't be clearly seen, Corentin immediately recognized her—it was Cloris, the captain of the Criminal Investigation Department!
How did she end up in the Traffic Police Department? Corentin was slightly surprised, but then he remembered a news article he had seen a few days ago—a criminal investigator in Kangserene City, had castrated a rapist with a kick!
Corentin burst into laughter. Such a violent act must have been the work of this female police officer. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been transferred to the Traffic Police Brigade.
"Please pull over, you are severely speeding," Cloris shouted loudly into the microphone as she rode her police motorcycle at high speed.
However, Corentin and Brant completely ignored her and continued driving at high speed. How could a motorcycle catch up to a car? Cloris was furious, "Damn it, I won't let you get away!"
Five minutes later, the Passat arrived at Soaring Group's Building first, followed by the Porsche 911 a minute later. Cloris arrived shortly after.
Cloris dismounted her motorcycle and approached the Passat with an imposing manner. This was the fastest car on the road, so she would teach him a lesson. As soon as Corentin got out of the car, a leg swept towards him, but he caught Cloris's small foot firmly in his hand, smiling slyly, "Officer Barkley, are you using excessive force and assaulting innocent citizens?"
"Innocent?" Cloris let her long leg down, feeling a sense of calm. She didn't expect it to be this brat! She knew Corentin had some skills, and it wouldn't be easy to deal with him. She sneered, "You were severely speeding on Eastern Avenue, posing a serious threat to traffic safety. I am now going to arrest you."
"Officer, when you arrest someone, don't you need evidence? Where is the evidence?" Corentin smiled.
At this moment, Brant opened the car door and got out. His lips curled into a cunning smile. Why was there a traffic police officer here? It was his doing. He had instructed his two followers to report the incident while he overtook them. He even had his uncle, Barrow, supporting him from behind. It was just a trivial matter.
No matter how skilled you are at driving, you will still fall into my hands. Last time, I let you escape by chance, but this time, you were severely speeding. I have evidence to bring you down," Brant smirked with a sinister smile.
However, Brant didn't realize that last time, both the underworld and the righteous forces failed to kill Corentin. He had no idea who was supporting him. With Cloris, the violent one, present this time, no matter how well-connected he was, he would have to face some consequences!
Brant was just Barrow's nephew, but he was also an illegitimate nephew. Knowing that Corentin was fine, he didn't feel comfortable asking Uncle Barrow about anything. So he didn't know who helped Corentin. If he knew that, he definitely wouldn't dare to oppose Corentin.
"So, you want evidence, right? Fine, I'll give it to you right away," Cloris took out her phone and called the Traffic Control Center. "Help me check the violation records of the car that overtook just now. The license plate number is xxxxx!"
After a moment, a sweet voice came from the other end of the phone, "Officer Barkley, there are no violation records for the Passat sedan with the license plate number xxxxx."
"What!" Cloris exclaimed, her face turning pale. Brant's face looked even worse, alternating between shades of blue and purple, petrified on the spot.
"It's impossible! I clearly saw him going over 150! Check again," Cloris looked at Corentin, disbelief in her voice.
The sweet voice on the other end continued, "Officer Barkley, there are indeed no records of speeding violations. Perhaps you made a mistake. However, there is a Porsche with the license plate number xxxxxx that severely exceeded the speed limit on Eastern Avenue, with more than 10 instances."
Since the cameras and speed radars clearly recorded the speeding violations of the Porsche, it was evident that these devices were not malfunctioning. But why was there no record of the Passat's violation?
Cloris suddenly realized something. When she was following behind, she would hear intense braking sounds every now and then. Her eyes lit up as she had a sudden realization. Before the intense braking, there would either be a speed radar or a camera. And every time Corentin approached one of these devices, he would forcefully brake and slow down, avoiding detection by the radar or camera. Once he was out of their range, he would accelerate rapidly. Cloris found this level of precision terrifying!
If Corentin had slowed down too early or accelerated too slowly when approaching the cameras and radars, there was no way he could have driven faster than the Porsche. Brant felt a chilling sensation sweep over his body, making him shiver.
The person in front of them still wore an innocent smile on his face. Cloris glanced at him, clenched her fist, and said with resentment, "You're impressive, but don't give me a reason to come after you. Otherwise, I'll settle both old and new scores with you!"
Even though Cloris was curious about his identity, the combination of new and old grudges made her want to swallow him whole.
Corentin chuckled, "Officer Barkley, I am a law-abiding citizen. I won't cause any trouble for you officers. You can rest assured."
"Hmph, we'll see," Cloris said, then turned to Brant and walked towards him. "You were severely speeding. Come with me to the Traffic Police Brigade for processing."
Brant sneered, "Do you know who my uncle is? Dare you take me to the police station?"
