chapter 2 Possessed

by Rose 16:32,Oct 27,2023
In the emergency ward.
A group of doctors and nurses were busily scrambling around, with a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy lying on the hospital bed.
His eyes were red, and his lips were turning blue.
Not only was he struggling violently, but he was also baring his teeth and continuously making "howling" sounds.
To prevent him from hurting anyone, the medical staff had to tie his limbs to the bed with ropes.
The door opened.
The dean of the City Center Hospital personally arrived at the scene.
"Dean Zhang, what brings you here?"
Everyone in the room was surprised.
Dean Zhang adjusted his glasses and asked with a solemn expression, "How is the child doing?"
The doctor in charge shook his head, "Not good, preliminary diagnosis suggests rabies..."
Dean Zhang frowned and said in a low voice, "He is the grandson of Director Gao from the Medical Department. Director Gao just called me personally to take good care of him and not let anything go wrong!"
The doctor across him was stunned: "Dean Zhang, if it's really rabies, even a great immortal descending from heaven can't save him!"
Dean Zhang pondered, "Just to be safe, let's call Moria Qin."
As they were speaking, Moria Qin hurried to the ward.
"Qin, you are our hospital's best emergency doctor. This patient is Director Gao's grandson, you must cure him no matter what!" Dean Zhang spoke sternly.
"I'll do my best." Moria Qin didn't dare to make any guarantees.
Then, she walked to the bedside and began examining the sick boy, asking about his heartbeat, pulse, and temperature, with the doctor beside her answering truthfully.
"Inject a sedative first, to control the symptoms!"
As soon as the sedative was administered, not only did the boy not calm down, but he also became more agitated.
His veins were bulging all over his body.
The whole bed creaked as he pulled at it.
Seeing that he was about to break the hemp rope, several doctors quickly stepped forward to grab his limbs.
"Dr. Qin, why is the condition worsening?" asked Dean Zhang.
Moria Qin was also surprised.
She had never seen anyone still have the strength to struggle after being sedated.
"Dean, judging from the symptoms, the probability of rabies is very high," Moria Qin assessed.
Upon hearing this, the boy's parents were shocked and pleaded, "Doctor, you must save my son!"
Once rabies breaks out, the fatality rate is 100%.
Even with her superb medical skills, she was helpless.
"It's not rabies!"
Just then, a voice came from behind.
Everyone turned their heads to see a young man dressed like a vagabond, carrying a sack, walking in.
"Who are you?" asked Dean Zhang.
Moria Qin quickly explained, "Dean, this is one of my patients, who was hit by a car and came to the hospital for an examination."
Saying this, Moria Qin winked at Noah Zhao, "What do you know? Get out quickly!"
"You won't last three seconds before the patient starts vomiting blood, and it will be black," Noah Zhao said confidently.
"I think your brain was damaged by the collision, pure nonsense!" Moria Qin frowned.
Erica Xu, who followed in, also thought Noah Zhao was talking nonsense and was about to pull him away.
However, a bizarre scene unfolded!
The boy on the bed suddenly started coughing violently.
Then, he vomited large amounts of black blood mixed with broken internal organs.
Everyone present was stunned.
Erica Xu covered her mouth in surprise.
Moria Qin was dumbfounded and turned to look at Noah Zhao, "What's going on?"
Noah Zhao walked in, "This young man must have been bitten by a dog infected with evil qi, hence the severe illness."
???
Moria Qin was full of question marks.
Evil qi? What's that?!
Could it be referring to a virus or bacteria?
Seeing Noah Zhao's accurate prediction, the boy's parents rushed over and asked, "Sir, can you save my son?"
"Yes!" Noah Zhao nodded.
Desperate, the parents, seeing the doctors helpless, pinned their hopes on Noah Zhao.
"Sir, please cure him quickly!"
"If you can save my son, I will thank you generously."
Noah Zhao put down the sack he was carrying and took out a willow branch.
Willow branches ward off evil.
The Jade Clean Bottle of Guanyin Bodhisattva was inserted with a willow branch.
Noah Zhao walked straight to the bed, waved the willow branch, and started whipping the boy.
Whack! Whack! Whack!
Moria Qin was startled and quickly stopped him, "What are you doing?"
"I'm exorcising evil!" Noah Zhao said earnestly.
"Superstitious nonsense! How can a young man like you learn these shamanistic tricks?" Moria Qin rebuked, red-faced.
"You don't understand!"
Noah Zhao pushed Moria Qin away and continued to whip the boy.
Strangely, after being whipped, the boy did not go mad.
Instead, he quickly calmed down.
A trace of clarity returned to his bloodshot eyes.
The more vigorously Noah Zhao whipped, the faster the boy recovered.
He stopped shouting and moving.
His black and blue lips gradually regained color.
Just as the boy was about to recover, he suddenly burst out in anger, continuously roaring, but the sound was "barking".
Suddenly, the boy spit out a puff of black qi from his mouth, flying straight at Noah Zhao.
Noah Zhao swung the willow branch and shouted, "Disperse!"
The black qi was scattered in the air.
With a "thud", the boy collapsed onto the bed, passing out with a normal complexion.
"Sir, how is my son?"
Noah Zhao said, "He's fine now. Strengthen his body and nourish his foundation in the future, and he will be safe!"
The boy's parents didn't have time to thank Noah Zhao and rushed to check their son's condition.
As for Noah Zhao, he picked up the sack on the ground and quietly left the ward.
Having done his deed, he left without a trace.
Erica Xu chased after him, "Handsome guy, wait!"
Noah Zhao paused, "Is there something else?"
Erica Xu looked at him and asked, "Are you a charlatan?"
"No."
"Then are you a doctor?"
"Neither."
"If you're neither, how did you cure him?" Erica Xu's eyes sparkled with curiosity.
Noah Zhao replied, "Everything has a spirit. By understanding the specific patterns and prescribing the right remedy, the disease can be cured."
Erica Xu sort of understood.
She immediately realized that this young man in front of her was talented!
"Hi, I'm Erica Xu," she extended her hand, introducing herself.
Noah Zhao said, "I'm Noah Zhao."
"Your accent doesn't sound local."
"I just came from Ice City," Noah Zhao replied.
"What did you come here for?" Erica Xu asked curiously.
"I came looking for my wife, but she doesn't want me anymore. I don't know what to do now," Noah Zhao said, sounding dejected.
"Do you have a place to stay?" Erica Xu asked.
Noah Zhao shook his head, "Not yet."
Erica Xu's heart fluttered with excitement, "Perfect, my pet hospital needs someone. Seeing you're quite capable, why not start working there for a while?"
"Pet hospital?" Noah Zhao was stunned, "But I'm not a veterinarian."
Erica Xu chuckled, "You can cure people, so treating a cat or a dog should be easy for you. I'll pay you eight thousand a month, including food and lodging. How about it?
Eight thousand?
Noah Zhao was stunned on the spot. The most money he had ever seen in his life was only two thousand yuan.
That money was left to him by his master.
Traveling from Changbai Mountain to Beihai, the money in his pocket was almost gone.
To save money, he only ate one meal a day.
Eight thousand yuan was a fortune to him.
"Okay!"
"I'll do it!"
Noah Zhao nodded vigorously, grinning to reveal his clean and beautiful teeth.
"Then follow me back to the pet hospital," Erica Xu said, her heart blooming with joy.
Actually, offering a salary of eight thousand yuan was a big pressure for her.
But to retain this talent, she had no choice.
Because her pet hospital was already running at a loss!
The reason for this was twofold.
First, her skills were not proficient, and she often failed to cure pets.
Second, the street where her hospital was located was fiercely competitive, with seven or eight pet clinics.
Originally, she thought of spending tens of thousands of yuan to hire a skilled pet expert to take charge.
But now, Noah Zhao appeared.
Erica Xu thought if she hadn't misjudged, this handsome guy could bring a ray of hope to her nearly bankrupt pet hospital.….
