"I've diagnosed it!"
Noah withdrew his gaze and turned to look at Amos.
Amos raised an eyebrow, saying skeptically, "Alright, then please tell me, what's wrong with this dog?"
Noah cleared his throat and explained, "It is food poisoning from eating something unclean."
Before he could finish speaking.
Amos sneered, "Nonsense! This dog has Parvovirus."
Noah said expressionlessly, "This dog was brought in three days ago. You gave it a total of five shots, but instead of getting better, its condition worsened. If it had the disease you mentioned, why didn't it improve?"
"If it didn't improve, it's because..."
Amos suddenly widened his eyes, looking utterly shocked, "How do you know this dog was brought in three days ago and that I gave it five shots?"
Noah's expression changed slightly, instantly realizing he misspoke.
So, he could only grit his teeth and say, "I just figured it out!"
"You just figured it out?"
Amos was startled, his face full of disbelief.
Even Erica was greatly surprised.
Originally.
Noah's performance at the hospital was already amazing enough.
But now.
At this moment, he once again astounded them.
To prevent further probing into this matter from the other party.
Noah continued, "The poisoning in this dog isn't severe. Crush some cactus and feed it to the dog. Within 1 to 2 hours, it'll be cured."
"Cactus to treat poisoning, what kind of method is that?" Amos frowned.
"You'll see if you try," Noah said.
"This pet belongs to someone else. If your unconventional method doesn't work, who will be responsible?" Amos continued to find fault.
Although he had been surprised a moment ago.
But for Noah's doubts, it didn't dispel them.
He didn't believe this pretty boy had any skills.
At most, he thought the guy was just lucky!
Erica, on the other hand, said, "The juice of a cactus can indeed detoxify. I heard a colleague mention it before."
With her saying that.
Amos couldn't argue anymore.
He wondered.
Where did this country bumpkin come from?
Looks like a scammer.
Yet surprisingly competent!
And Erica's attitude toward Noah became even warmer than before.
Not only serving tea and water.
But also holding his hand, guiding him to familiarize himself with the environment and equipment of the pet hospital.
The more Amos watched, the more displeased he became.
He had admired Erica for a long time.
Ever since she opened this pet hospital, he had been working here. Yet, he never had the chance to get close to her.
Then this guy shows up.
Erica was ecstatic, almost grinning from ear to ear.
Amos took a deep breath.
In his mind, he muttered, "You little punk, trying to steal my thunder right off the bat."
"Hmph!"
"Just wait, it won't be long before I kick you out!"
Just as they finished familiarizing themselves with the surroundings.
A group of people suddenly barged in at the entrance.
There was a bald, burly man in a polo shirt, carrying a briefcase, accompanied by seven or eight fierce-looking youths, marching in aggressively.
Those youths each held an iron rod in their hands.
As soon as they entered, they started smashing things.
The bald man had a cigar in his mouth, his face full of hostility as he shouted, "Damn! This place is a rip-off joint, smash it up good for me."
Seeing this, Amos approached in alarm, asking, "Brother Archibald, what's going on?"
Slap—
The bald man backhanded him, spitting as he cursed, "Damn, you still have the nerve to ask? If you don't give me an explanation for today's incident, I'll beat you to death."
Amos trembled, utterly bewildered.
Erica stepped forward to intervene immediately, "Brother Archibald, calm down. Let's talk it out. What exactly happened?"
The bald man glanced at Erica, and his fierce gaze softened slightly.
Clearly.
He was a regular customer here, and they knew each other.
"Erica, I've brought my business here many times, Archibald, and I didn't expect you guys to treat me like a big fool," he said.
Erica was puzzled, still wearing a questioning expression.
Archibald narrowed his eyes slightly and shouted to his men, "Bring that dog in."
As soon as he said that.
Two people at the door dragged a dead dog into the room and threw it at Erica's feet.
Seeing this, Erica paled in fright.
A dead dog.
Covered in blood, covered with wounds, and not a single spot of intact skin on its body, like it had been thrown into a meat grinder and churned around.
There was even a swarm of flies around it.
Archibald pointed to the dead dog on the ground and said, "This dog cost me five million to import as a professional fighting dog from abroad. It got sick a few days ago, so I brought it here for treatment. I emphasized that it must be well taken care of because I have an important fight coming up."
As he spoke.
Archibald pointed to the trembling Amos on the side and cursed loudly.
"Who would've known, yesterday when I came to pick up the dog, this bastard swore up and down, guaranteeing me that the dog was cured. I took it to the fighting arena, and what do you know, it got killed in one shot by the opponent's dog!"
"If it had lost simply because it wasn't as skilled, that would've been fine, but this dog wasn't healed; it was vomiting and defecating during the fight."
Hearing Archibald's explanation.
Erica understood the whole situation.
She glanced at Amos.
Seeing him hanging his head like a beaten dog, silent.
She knew that blaming Amos now would be meaningless.
Archibald had brought people here to make trouble.
If she didn't offer a reasonable explanation, this matter would be hard to explain.
"Brother Archibald, what do you want to do?" Erica asked, lips pursed.
Archibald took a drag of his cigar and leisurely replied, "Erica, if it weren't for you being a woman, I'd deal with you too!"
"Enough!"
"I'm not unreasonable, Erica. Every wrong has a perpetrator. Let's settle this properly."
"My purebred Dogo Argentino is worth five million in the market. It has fought for me for years, never losing. The winnings alone amount to twenty million. Even when someone offered me twenty million before, I didn't sell it..."
"Here's the deal, either you compensate me with twenty million, or you give me a dog of equal value. Otherwise..."
With that.
Archibald didn't continue.
However.
A hint of murderous intent flashed across his gloomy face.
Erica was shocked.
She did not doubt whether Archibald could follow through on his words.
Because.
He was a renowned real estate tycoon in this area.
He had started with land development, and his hands weren't clean.
Moreover.
He was also the leader of the Windfire Gang, the largest underworld force in the North Sea.
With a deep background and formidable strength!
"I'll give you three days. If I don't see twenty million or a dog of equal value after three days, I'll flatten your pet hospital. I'll strip you and sell you to the brothel, and that bastard will be chopped up and fed to the fish in the river!"
With this harsh threat to Erica and Amos.
Archibald left with his men.
As he reached the door.
He gave one last reminder, "Don't even think about running. I'll have people watching you at all times. If I catch wind of any attempt to escape, there will be no mercy!"
