chapter 11 go home with me

by Rose 16:32,Oct 27,2023
Noah Zhao never expected that the brave female doctor who stepped forward was Moria Qin.
Surprise was evident on her face.
"Doctor Qin, what a coincidence, we meet again!"
Moria Qin looked at Noah Zhao, her gaze lingering, her expression complex.
After treating Director Gao's grandson in the hospital, he had stealthily left when no one was paying attention.
She had wanted to find him to discuss the illness.
After all, as a talented medical expert, she was proud and seldom encountered diseases even she couldn't treat.
Now, she had been upstaged by an unknown country bumpkin in front of her hospital colleagues and patient's family members.
She was somewhat unwilling to accept this.
Discussing the illness was just a pretext.
The real reason was to probe into his background.
But since he had disappeared, she had to put the matter aside.
However, she never expected to meet him again so soon.
The situation was nearly identical to before.
"How did you determine he was poisoned?" Moria Qin asked, not noticing any signs of poisoning in the old man.
Noah Zhao pointed to his head: "It's based on experience, and this old man's poisoning is not ordinary... Hot in hot weather, cold in cold weather, lung pain at night, heart pain during the day."
Moria Qin frowned, about to speak.
The young girl beside them said: "Big brother, what you said is exactly right, my grandfather does have these symptoms! We thought it was a strange disease, but it turns out he was poisoned."
She rushed to Noah Zhao and pleaded: "Big brother, please help, save my grandfather. I'm from the Beihai Sun family, my name is Rachel Sun, and this is my grandfather Harriet Sun."
Noah Zhao showed no reaction when he heard this.
But the onlookers were shocked upon hearing about the Beihai Sun family.
"Sun family, Harriet Sun? Oh my, it's this old gentleman!"
"The Beihai Sun family, one of the ten great tycoons of Long Country, if one could establish a connection with them, they would surely soar to great heights. Alas, if only I knew medical skills, I would rush to save the old gentleman."
"No wonder this grandfather and granddaughter, despite their simple attire, exude such nobility, they're from the Sun family..."
Moria Qin was also shocked.
She was intimidated by the reputation of the Beihai Sun family.
Fearing to make matters worse, she feigned calmness and asked Noah Zhao: "How do you plan to save him?"
"It's simple, the toxins are concentrated in the heart meridian now. Just use the method of meridian transfer and acupoint shifting to alleviate the symptoms."
Meridian transfer? Acupoint shifting?
Moria Qin was instantly confused.
This was something she had never heard of.
With the previous experience in mind, she did not question Noah Zhao this time.
Instead, she patiently asked: "How should it be done?"
Noah Zhao gestured for Moria Qin to step aside and let him proceed.
Moria Qin pursed her lips, stood up, and moved aside.
Noah Zhao then approached the old man, knelt down, and opened his snake-skin bag.
He took out a box, which neatly contained several silver needles upon opening.
Moria Qin's pupils contracted rapidly.
Was his snake-skin bag a treasure trove? It seemed to contain everything!
Noah Zhao skillfully grabbed the silver needles and rapidly inserted them into the old man's body.
The onlookers were both terrified and amazed.
How could he insert the needles so quickly without making a mistake?
To the layman, it was a spectacle.
To the expert, it was a display of skill.
Moria Qin exclaimed: "Flying needles technique?"
Although she was puzzled by some of the things Noah Zhao said, as a doctor combining Eastern and Western medicine and having learned acupuncture, she knew quite a bit about it.
Her acupuncture teacher, a master of traditional Chinese medicine, was unparalleled in this skill.
Yet, Noah Zhao's acupuncture technique surpassed even that master.
Moria Qin had always thought that the flying needles technique was just a myth, something that couldn't exist in reality.
Even her teacher had assured her that such a skill was just a beautiful imagination described in ancient medical texts...
But then, in a split second, Noah Zhao finished inserting the needles and began massaging various acupoints on the old man's body.
Incredibly, a patch of skin on the old man's chest seemed to be pushed up by something, then, under the guidance of the silver needles, it moved downwards!
Moria Qin was astounded.
If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she would never have believed it.
Soon, the old man, who was previously half-dead, suddenly looked rejuvenated and started coughing violently.
"Grandpa!"
Rachel Sun was overjoyed.
The old man slowly opened his eyes, still weak but his face had regained its vitality.
"Thank goodness, Grandpa, you're awake!"
The surrounding crowd was amazed.
Moria Qin quickly checked the old man again.
She was astonished to find that the man who was at death's door a second ago was now back to normal and showed no signs of abnormality.
"Make way for me!"
With a shout, a burly man with a group of bodyguards burst into the crowd.
Rachel Sun turned and called out: "Brother, you're finally here."
Sun Haiwei, anxious, asked: "How is Grandpa?"
Rachel Sun replied: "Brother, Grandpa is fine now, thanks to this big brother's help."
She was about to point at Noah Zhao.
But as she raised her arm, she found that Noah Zhao had disappeared.
"Huh!"
"Where did that big brother go?"
The onlookers also looked around in surprise, unable to find Noah Zhao.
They were astonished.
This man had just saved the Sun family patriarch. Not wanting fame or fortune, he had simply left?
As everyone was bewildered, the very weak Harriet Sun gradually regained consciousness and emphatically said: "Find this benefactor at all costs!"
No sooner had Noah Zhao left than a voice called out from behind: "Stop right there!"
He turned to see Moria Qin charging towards him, looking furious.
"Doctor Qin, why are you following me?"
Moria Qin, out of breath, said: "Why did you leave without saying anything? Luckily, I saw you were about to leave."
Noah Zhao scratched his head: "The job is done, should I stay to watch the drama?"
"Don't you want a reward for saving him?" Moria Qin asked.
Noah Zhao laughed, showing his white teeth: "Buddha says, saving a life is more meritorious than building a seven-floor pagoda. I'm accumulating merits for myself, how can I ask for a reward?"
"Besides, it's just a trivial matter, not worth mentioning."
The first part was acceptable.
But the latter part made Moria Qin's blood boil.
Was this a trivial matter?
Whether it was the boy bitten by a dog in the hospital or the old man who almost died just now.
Setting aside their noble identities, just considering their conditions, as a doctor who had studied abroad and practiced both Eastern and Western medicine, Moria Qin was at a loss...
What she couldn't cure, seemed so effortless for him.
This hurt Moria Qin's pride.
And her proud soul trembled.
"Who taught you medical skills?"
Noah Zhao was taken aback: "I don't know medical skills."
"Nonsense, how could you use silver needles if you don't know medical skills?" Moria Qin retorted, her face turning red.
Noah Zhao suddenly realized: "Oh, that? I don't use it for treating illnesses, but for practicing. Inserting silver needles has the effect of cleansing the meridians and replenishing energy."
Hearing this, Moria Qin felt even more defeated.
He wasn't a doctor, yet he was better at treating illnesses than she was, a doctor. How could this be?
Moria Qin was 25 years old.
Born into a family of medical practitioners.
From a young age, she immersed herself in medical texts, showing great talent.
At five, she could recite the "Compendium of Materia Medica" and "Treatise on Cold Damage Disorders" by heart.
At eight, she began prescribing medicine and became well-known.
At ten, Mandel Zhang, the foremost doctor in Long Country, praised her: "A medical genius seen once in a hundred years, this girl is a blessing to Long Country's medical field!"
At eighteen, she entered Beihai Medical College, specializing in clinical medicine.
At twenty, she studied abroad in top hospitals.
She was the youngest member of the International Medical Association.
And the youngest associate professor in the Clinical Department of Beihai Medical College.
Also, the youngest attending physician in the history of Beihai Central Hospital!
She believed that among her peers, no one could match her medical skills.
Yet, in just one day, Noah Zhao had twice made her feel utterly humiliated.
Making Moria Qin even doubt her own life.
She looked at Noah Zhao.
Seeing his clueless appearance, she found it hard to accept this reality.
Could he be a genius even more talented than her?
"Doctor Qin, if there's nothing else, I'll be leaving." Noah Zhao, sensing Moria Qin's strange look, became a little panicked.
"Don't leave!" Moria Qin shouted.
"Do you have anything else?" Noah Zhao asked.
"Come home with me!" Moria Qin blurted out without thinking.
Upon hearing this.
Noah Zhao was completely stunned: "Ah! That's not good, we're not familiar with each other. Besides, why should I go with you?"
