An hour passed since Noah left.
Florence hurriedly walked out of the building.
Lately, she had encountered a lot of troublesome matters.
There was a huge crisis within the company, and external pressures from competitors were mounting.
As a result, she hadn't had a good night's sleep for several days.
Just as Florence was about to get into the parked Bentley Bentayga at the entrance.
The security guard suddenly ran over, smiling, "Madam President, there's something I'd like to inform you about!"
Florence glanced at him, "What's the matter?"
The guard was about to speak, but suddenly stopped himself, "Oh, it's nothing."
Florence sensed something amiss and pressed with more intensity, "What exactly is it?"
Then.
The guard cleared his throat and cautiously said, "A homeless man came this morning, claiming to be your husband..."
Mid-sentence.
The guard's voice abruptly halted as he saw Florence's furrowed brow, which tightened instantly.
"Madam, I'm sorry, it sounded like nonsense the moment I heard it, I shouldn't have reported it to you."
The guard apologized repeatedly.
Florence didn't blame him, only asked, "What's his name?"
The guard truthfully replied, "Seems like it's No...Nova, no, it should be Noah, looked quite sturdy."
As soon as he said that.
Florence's expression changed abruptly, "Where is he?"
"Gone."
"Where did he go?"
"Don't know, we thought he was just a nonsense scammer, so we chased him away."
Florence froze.
As her gaze shifted, a hint of complexity emerged on her exquisite face.
She murmured to herself, "What was meant to come has finally arrived."

Meanwhile.
Noah had already been brought to the pet clinic by Erica.
It was called a pet hospital.
But it was essentially just a pet clinic.
The space was quite small, just over a hundred square meters.
The area was cramped.
Both sides were filled with various iron cages, leaving only a narrow aisle in the middle, barely two meters wide.
And inside the cages were various pets.
Mainly some common cats and dogs, as well as some rabbits, ornamental fish, and parrots.
"Sis Erica, you're back!"
As soon as they entered, they heard a man's voice.
Then.
They saw a young man wearing black-framed glasses and a checkered shirt coming out from the inner room.
When he saw Erica, he smiled warmly.
But when his gaze fell on Noah, it froze, "Sis Erica, why is there a homeless man here?"
Erica's expression changed, and she quickly explained, "Amos, he's not a homeless man, he's a specialist I specially brought in from outside!"
Amos was stunned on the spot.
He looked Noah up and down.
Dressed in tattered clothes, looking completely disheveled.
“Does this guy count as a specialist?”
If Erica hadn't said anything, he would have thought the guy escaped from a refugee camp.
"Mr. Zhao, this is Dr. Amos from our pet hospital, you'll be colleagues from now on," Erica introduced.
Noah nodded at Amos.
And even extended his hand voluntarily, "Nice to meet you, I'm Noah."
Uh...
This guy even had an accent?
Amos was completely dumbfounded.
An immediate thought popped into his head, that Erica must have been deceived.
How could this nonsense guy be a specialist?
He was just a country bumpkin who had come to the city.
If the guy had looked presentable, like a decent person, then Erica being deceived would have been understandable.
But this guy.
There was no aura of a specialist about him.
He couldn't figure it out.
Why would Erica be deceived?
Was it because the guy looked good?
Seeing the guy's pretty face, a surge of anger mixed with jealousy erupted in Amos.
"Sis Erica, scammers are everywhere these days, you have a kind heart, easily misled by appearances," Amos said.
"Amos, what do you mean by that?" Erica frowned, "Are you saying Mr. Zhao is a fraudster?"
"Of course!"
Amos stared straight at Noah, not mincing words, "Not to mention where he's from, just look at his age, doesn't seem like he's capable of much."
Noah calmly stated, "I'm not a fraudster!"
"What fraudster admits to being a fraudster?"
Amos sneered, "I advise you to get lost! Can't learn anything decent, just learn to deceive and cheat like others, Sis Erica is kind-hearted, didn't see through your disguise, but I see right through you!"
Noah didn't have Amos's eloquence.
He didn't know how to defend himself.
All he could do was repeat the same sentence, "I'm not a fraudster!"
Erica's expression darkened, "Amos, that's enough! Mr. Zhao is someone I invited back, accusing him of being a fraudster to his face, you're not giving me any face."
Amos thought Erica was short-sighted and continued to earnestly persuade, "Sis Erica, trust me, I've seen plenty of people like this, a dime a dozen under the bridge, just waiting to deceive kind-hearted girls like you!"
As he spoke.
Amos pointed at Noah and shouted, "Since you don't know any better, today I'll expose your true colors."
Noah shook his head and turned to Erica, "Miss Xu, I'll just leave, don't want to disrupt the harmony between you."
Before Erica could speak.
Amos sarcastically said, "Seeing the exposure coming, you want to run? Hmph, don't leave yet, I have to expose your disguise!"
Noah was completely bewildered.
Neither staying nor going seemed like a good option.
This guy was so domineering!
Were city folks all like this?
"Sis Erica, didn't you say you were a specialist? Then you should be adept at treating illnesses," Amos remarked.
"Perfect!"
"I have a few sick pets here, you take a look at them. If you diagnose them correctly, I'll believe you're a specialist. If not, it'll prove you're a fraud, and I'll take you to the police station."
At this point.
Amos pointed to a cage nearby, "There's a dog here, tell me what's wrong with it."
With an attitude of 'better safe than sorry,' Noah hadn't planned to pay any attention to Amos, but seeing the other's pushy demeanor, as an honest person, he couldn't just let someone slander him for no reason.
So.
He had to clear his name!
Thus.
Noah walked straight to the dog cage and engaged in telepathy.
"Doggy, wake up."
Suddenly.
The Teddy, half asleep, slowly opened one eye, "Who's there?"
When it saw a person talking to it, it shivered in fright.
"Oh, damn, a ghost!"
Noah hurried to reassure, "Don't be nervous, I'm not a ghost, I just happen to understand your thoughts."
The Teddy rolled its eyes and, seeing Noah harmless, let down its guard.
"I've never seen someone who can talk to dogs before..."
Noah chuckled and got to business, "By the way, how did you end up here?"
"Forget about it, ate something wrong, had diarrhea and vomiting, that idiot vet next to you thought I had a cold and gave me shots for days, almost killed me," the Teddy complained.
"So, you have food poisoning?" Noah asked.
"Sort of," the Teddy said weakly.
Meanwhile.
Amos, seeing Noah talking to the animals so mysteriously, became even more convinced that this guy was a fraud!
He immediately became impatient and urged, "Kid, can you figure it out or not? If not, just say so, don't play tricks here, can't tell what's real and what's fake!"
Erica's gaze narrowed, her attention focused on Noah.
She thought Amos was going too far.
But she didn't forcefully intervene.
Because.
She had her considerations.
She wanted to test the depth of the other party again.
Although she had seen his capabilities at the hospital, treating humans and treating pets were two different things. Just in case he couldn't handle it, she needed to cut her losses in time.
