chapter 8 Millions of medical fees ===

by Charleen 17:05,Nov 30,2023
Kane remained silent, took out the eighth silver needle, and pierced it into the little boy's hidden acupoint.
"Beep, beep, beep..."
Suddenly, the nearby instrument emitted an urgent alarm, and the heart rate graph flatlined, indicating a stopped heartbeat!
"So, you are a quack. Now that you've killed the child, you're done for."
Dr. Raiden immediately stood up. He had just been forced to kneel and beg Kane, and now he felt utterly humiliated.
"No medical license, causing death! Get ready to face a lawsuit!"
Wrenley went mad and rushed at Kane, "You, you bring back my son's life! You bring back my son's life!"
"You scoundrel, what have you done? My son is dead, and you won't live either!!"
Esteban, who had always been composed, was now furious. He grabbed Kane by the collar and lifted him.
With some weakness, Kane said, "It's all right now. His heart rate will return to normal in a minute, and the silver needles on his body can be removed in half an hour."
"You're just making excuses. He's already dead, no heartbeat—how could he possibly survive?" roared Pedro.
"Still hanging on and making excuses. Let me tell you, your life can't make up for my son's. I'll make your whole family disappear forever!"
Wrenley hurled vicious words at Kane, one by one.
Pushing away Wrenley and Esteban, Kane said, "I saved your son. I have a clear conscience. It's just a minute, and we'll see the results soon!"
"Esteban, at this point, why not wait for a minute," Grady didn't know what else to say at this point.
He was confident in Kane's abilities. If Esteban's son died, he would have an undeniable responsibility.
Understanding Grady's concern, Kane smiled confidently at him, "Rest assured."
Esteban's face was filled with anger, "Fine, I'll give you, Grady, one more chance. But if my son dies, not only this kid, but you, Grady, will accompany my son to his burial!"
Grady stiffened, but thinking of the ghostly needle technique Kane had just used, he confidently said, "Esteban, rest assured. You'll have to thank this Kane later! You're lucky to have encountered him. If it were someone else, your son probably wouldn't have made it."
As he said this, Grady glanced at Dr. Raiden.
Dr. Raiden snorted coldly, "I've never seen someone come back to life after dying. Even if they did, it's just a temporary recovery."
Kane didn't explain. The truth would prove everything.
As the seconds ticked by, the short minute felt like a whole day.
Everyone stared at the instruments and also looked at the clock hanging in the ward.
"Hmph, deliberately delaying time. This kid is a goner. How could a few silver needles possibly cure him?"
Dr. Raiden muttered viciously, "Grady, and you, you stinking kid, get ready to face Esteban's fury!"
When the minute was up, the heart rate on the instrument indeed began to fluctuate.
"Haha, I knew it. Kane could cure Callum."
Grady laughed heartily, "I don't know who said that traditional Chinese medicine is just superficial. Now, Western medicine can't save the patient, but traditional Chinese medicine can! Does that mean Western medicine can't compare to traditional Chinese medicine?"
Dr. Raiden looked as if he'd seen a ghost, his face turning pale. "How... how is this possible?! It can't be. It's not real. There must be something wrong with the equipment."
As Dr. Raiden rushed over and saw the gradual recovery of breathing and the faint pulse, he sat on the ground in a daze.
"No, this can't be real. Just a few needles and it's supposed to detoxify? Witchcraft, you must be using witchcraft!"
Seeing the Dr. Raiden in this state, Esteban coldly ordered, "Get out!"
Dr. Raiden trembled and dared not stay, quickly fleeing from the scene in a panic.
As Esteban looked at Callum, black sweat began to appear on his body as his heart rate gradually recovered.
Callum's breathing also stabilized, and his lips, once dark, quickly regained color.
Esteban took a deep breath. Even though he was well-traveled, he couldn't help but gasp in amazement, "It's really... cured?!"
Originally, Esteban had only tried to help, regardless of whether Kane could cure the boy. He just wanted to give the possibility to a miracle.
Now, the miracle had truly appeared!"
Remove the silver needles in half an hour, and with a week of rest, he will fully recover," Kane said calmly.
Esteban took a deep breath, stepped forward, and bowed deeply to Kane with great respect, "Kane, thank you very much for saving my son. There are 1,500,000 dollars in this card. Please accept it. Today, Esteban owes you a great favor."
"If in the future, Kane needs my help, just ask. As long as it's something I, Esteban, can do, I won't refuse."
Kane was taken aback. He used to earn at most 1,500 dollars a month delivering takeout, and he hadn't expected to make 1,500,000 dollars so easily after inheriting medical skills from his past life.
More importantly, he now owed a favor to Esteban!
"Thank you very much then," Kane replied without hesitation, taking the bank card and then turning to Grady, "Here, 150,000 dollars is yours. After all, I used your silver needles to save someone."
Grady quickly waved his hand, "Kane, there's no need to be so polite. It's an honor for me to see you using the needles in my lifetime."
As an old traditional Chinese medicine enthusiast, being able to witness a miraculous treatment was indeed an honor for him.
"If you insist on thanking me, please accept me as your apprentice. I'm obsessed with medicine, and I hope you can fulfill my wish," he said to Kane.
