chapter 10 Just passing by, no need to care

Jedrek's eyes were slightly moist as he gazed at the zealous soldiers of the Divine Martial Guardsmen before him. They were his troops, the forefront of the Palace of the God of War. The swords on their shoulders symbolized their loyalty and valor.
In every conflict, the spirit of the Divine Martial Guardsmen must lead the way.
The Advance Guards and the Divine Martial Guardsmen were both fearless units that charged into battle!
Upon seeing numerous familiar faces at Base 9, Jedrek could no longer contain his excitement. As he beheld the neatly arranged Divine Martial Guardsmen before him once more, his heart swelled with a renewed fighting spirit.
Taking a deep breath, he thundered, "The Palace of the God of War!"
Countless divine warriors gazed back with fervor and led by Duvall, they thundered, "Invincible!"
Jedrek burst into laughter.
Watching Duvall approach eagerly, Jedrek extended his hand and gave him a hearty slap.
Duvall stood in shock, wearing a puzzled expression.
Jedrek chuckled and scolded, "Gathering so many people here for a cross-district battle!"
Duvall snapped out of his daze, a grin spreading across his face as he straightened up, "Apologies for the oversight!"
Jedrek said no more, gesturing for Duvall to board the vehicle with a thousand soldiers in tow.
As he awaited the vehicle, Jedrek led his Divine Martial Guardsman and swiftly departed from Mid Capital.
At the same time, numerous videos surfaced online depicting Jedrek and the thousand divine guards in the Fourth Courtyard of Phoenix District in the Mid Capital.
A helicopter landed atop the snow-capped mountain that day, echoing the words "The Red Dragon Appears." The thousand-year-old snow-covered peak suddenly avalanched, revealing a towering figure with disheveled hair and a bare upper body, nearly three meters tall, emerging from the wind and snow.
Simultaneously, a young man in a suit and leather shoes descended to the 18th floor underground, uttering "Red Dragon Appears," rousing a slumbering beauty from a blood pool. Her skin was as white as snow, her eyes crimson.
On that day, an elderly man at the border roared with laughter, departing the city solo to slaughter seven thousand aliens in jubilation...
The arrival of Jedrek, or the Red Dragon, heralded a shift in events that day.
Meanwhile, rumors circulated on the dark web that the Red Dragon's head could fetch 800 cities!
Jedrek remained oblivious to the commotion his presence stirred, indifferent to the uproar.
Mid-Capital Sanatorium is nestled amidst lush greenery, enveloped by mountains and rivers, resonating with birdsong and floral scents. Presently, an elderly man in coarse linen attire sat leisurely on a mat on the verdant lawn, engrossed in a game of chess with himself.
A beautiful middle-aged woman approached from afar.
She gazed at the old man with a smile, halting upon arrival. Half an hour passed, and the old man pondered his next move, placing his pieces on the board before she remarked, "The Red Dragon appears in Mid Capital."
The old man, while reaching for his teacup, paused abruptly, then casually smiled, "No matter, I'm just passing through Mid Capital. Those of his ilk mostly dwell at the border, no cause for concern."
She returned the smile, her tone relaxed, "That's what I mentioned, yet three years ago, the Red Dragon single-handedly confronted the four foreign kings. The world was shaken by that battle, and the Red Dragon's reputation befits him.
The youngest king, king among kings, the war of god of the Land of the Red Dragon... a string of titles. Regrettably, it's said he sustained grave injuries in that conflict, vanished for three years, and was on the brink of death."
Upon hearing the woman's words, the old man frowned slightly and muttered, "After vanishing for three years, why is he reappearing in Mid Capital?"
The woman smiled and replied, "That's a mystery. I was thinking that befriending him might benefit the Bishop Family. After all, he is the youngest king."
Disdainfully, the old man remarked, "Youngest? Haha, who knows, it's all hearsay. You might be older than me. Anyway, why the sudden visit?"
The woman, as if just realizing, touched her forehead and softly said, "Hodge called, Awenasa is missing, and not responding."
The old man's demeanor shifted from casual to cold as his eyes narrowed. He sternly asked the woman, "What's the situation?"
The woman's expression turned serious as she responded, "I'm not sure yet, but I've frozen the card. If she tries to access the funds, she'll have to contact her family."
With a cold gaze, the old man exclaimed, "What a scoundrel! If they dare to sabotage my plans, I'll personally crush them!"
The woman added, "I heard the scoundrel is suffering from liver issues and may not have long to live. It seems intervention may not be necessary."
The old man furrowed his brow and declared, "No, reach out to that scoundrel immediately. Offer assistance with their treatment and urge them to return for family guidance promptly!"
The woman pondered for a moment before stating, "In reality, the family has nothing to offer her. Once she establishes a connection with the Cooper Family, she can provide valuable information in return. It all hinges on her willingness."
"Hmph, do you believe I am unaware? I summoned her back solely to maintain control over that wicked scoundrel!" the elderly man remarked icily.
The woman was taken aback by this revelation, privately musing that not even a tiger would harm its offspring!
She acquiesced, then retrieved her phone and dialed. As expected, Awenasa's call remained unanswered.

Meanwhile, Awenasa returned to her residence in Mid Capital in a state of despair. She required more funds!
At Woodland First Hospital, she discovered that there was cutting-edge equipment available to sustain Mirte's life, necessitating millions each day. The hospital boasted top-tier physicians who were already tending to Mirte. The optimal surgery had been scheduled, pending the arrival of a compatible liver.
She was still unaware of who had admitted Mirte to the hospital. Initially, she suspected it was Jedrek.
However, during her journey back, she dismissed this conjecture.
Could it have been him? It seemed implausible.
Contemplating the impending medical expenses left her feeling utterly powerless.
She reluctantly retrieved her phone once more. If anyone could provide such a substantial sum, it would be her unyielding father.
Scrolling through the numerous missed calls on her phone, Awenasa absentmindedly dialed her father's number.
After two rings, the call connected.
An aged voice inquired, "Where are you? Why haven't you answered the phone?"
Awenasa clenched her jaw and stated, "I require additional funds, 1,400,000 dollars."
The elderly voice replied, "Very well, come to me, and I will provide it."
Awenasa gritted her teeth and retorted, "I want it transferred to my account. I am aware that the previous 700,000 dollars has been frozen. You cannot deceive me!"
The person on the other end fell silent briefly before stating, "That's because you vanished previously, and this time the amount will be credited to your account. Return now."
Awenasa was taken aback, her eyes reddening. She had merely been testing it, not anticipating her father to freeze the 700,000 dollars!
She clenched her jaw, but thoughts of her daughter in the isolation ward made her grit her teeth and respond, "Fine, I'll return immediately."
Got up, Awenasa gathered her clothes and headed out. However, upon stepping outside, she found Hodge blocking the doorway alongside six or seven burly men with round bellies.
Spotting Awenasa, Hodge smirked wickedly, "Well, let's see where you try to escape this time! Bitch!"
