"Can sitting there really cure your muteness?" Diana asked incredulously.
"Absolutely!" Rachit raised his eyebrows.
"Oh!" Diana replied, still appearing unconvinced.
Rather than being surprised, Rachit gazed at Diana and said earnestly, "Darling, had I not come today, I wouldn't have been aware of the significant issue at the company. It would help if you hadn't hidden it from me. You should have informed me earlier. Sooner, I could have assisted you in handling that troublemaker, Zeph!"
Gemma nearly spilled the hot water on her hand upon hearing Rachit's words while preparing tea. This guy was not just a fool but also a big talker, huh?
Who was Zeph?
He was the prominent young master of Zintech City. Could you as a son-in-law be picked up to confront him casually?
Where did your confidence come from?
"You confront him?" Diana rolled her eyes.
Since Rachit had already seen her true nature, she no longer needed to feign indifference in his presence.
"He's just a joke, dealing with him is a breeze." Rachit shamelessly boasted.
Diana rolled her eyes once more. This guy could talk now, which might seem positive, but it was all just nonsense. Diana thought he was better off being silent. At least then, she could be worry-free.
Diana instructed Gemma while Ignoring Rachit, "Inform all staff from the finance and accounting departments to gather in the meeting room."
"Understood, Ms. Cyrus." After placing the freshly brewed tea in front of Rachit, Gemma swiftly exited the office.
"Darling, this is a minor issue, why do we need a meeting?" Rachit pursed his lips and questioned.
"Is this minor? If you don't comprehend, refrain from speaking nonsense. Wait here; after the meeting, we'll leave together. And don't wander around the company," Diana stated firmly.
After giving Rachit a stern look, she rose and proceeded to the meeting room, disregarding the clueless and arrogant man.
Observing Diana's departure, Rachit muttered to himself, "My wife appears composed, but she's not. As I mentioned, this is such a trivial matter?"
With that remark, Rachit picked up the phone on his desk and dialed a number.
...
In the conference room of the Cyrus Group, nearly twenty people were seated. They were the key members of the finance department. Each was a proficient operator.
Diana sat at the head of the table, holding a pen and tapping it. After scanning everyone, she spoke slowly, "Let's deliberate on addressing this situation."
"Ms. Cyrus, it's confirmed that our adversary is the Berry family," Jarrett, the deputy director of the finance department, stated with a furrowed brow.
Upon hearing Jarrett's words, silence befell the meeting room.
The Berry family?
A superfamily with 10 billion dollars in funds.
Could Cyrus Group truly rival them?
Even with exceptional trading skills, they seemed powerless against absolute might.
Observing the room's reactions, Diana felt a chill. Many seemed reluctant to challenge the Berry family again, likely contemplating new paths.
For most present, Cyrus Group's fate being sealed by the Berry family was inevitable.
Diana understood their stance. Survival mattered waiting for Cyrus Group's demise wasn't an option.
After a pause, Diana turned to Hannah, the financial director beside her, and inquired, "Ms. Hannah, how much funding remains accessible to us?"
Hannah, captivating in her fitted white shirt, leaned forward, emphasizing her assets. With a forced smile, she replied, "Even if we pool all resources by tomorrow's market, we can only amass up to 50,000,000 dollars."
Addressing Masood, the finance department director on her left, Diana asked, "If I entrust you with this 50,000,000 dollars, how long can we sustain?"
"50,000,000 dollars?" Masood smirked, "Ms. Cyrus, forgive my bluntness, but resisting seems futile. The Berry family can mobilize 10 billion effortlessly. 50,000,000 dollars versus 1 billion dollars, there is no chance of winning."
Masood paused. He locked eyes with Diana. Slowly, he advised, "The Berry family surpasses Cyrus, financially. Cash out now to secure a few billion and ensure your future."
Diana's tone turned icy, "Is this your stance?"
"Indeed, for your benefit, Ms. Cyrus," Masood replied.
Before he could continue, Diana gestured, coldly interjecting, "Just answer, how long can you maintain 50,000,000 dollars?"
"Your persistence risks Cyrus Group's downfall. Consider my counsel," Masood urged.
Diana gazed at Masood, feeling somewhat desolate.
Masood, an elderly figure from her father's era, had earned her father's trust, leading the crucial finance department.
She hadn't anticipated him being the first to urge her to relinquish ties with the Cyrus family.
What was the significance of considering her in all this?
Diana was well aware he had no regard for her. This individual sought to have her sell her shares, possibly securing severance pay before the Cyrus family's downfall.
"Ms. Cyrus, I believe Mr. Masood's proposal is the wisest course of action for now."
"Yes... Ms. Cyrus, if you liquidate now, you still have an escape route. Delaying until tomorrow might result in a total loss!"
"Indeed, by liquidating now, Ms. Cyrus, you'll ensure financial stability for your future, and the rest of us might also receive severance pay."
"Yes, considering the years of dedication to the Cyrus Group, we can't bear the thought of being left jobless without any safety net, can we?"
"That's enough!" Jarrett, the deputy director of finance, rose in anger, pointing at the group, and exclaimed, "From the late Mr. Cyrus to young Ms. Cyrus, have any of them mistreated you? Each of you is worth 1,000,000 dollars, all thanks to the Cyrus family. Now, in their time of trouble, instead of showing gratitude, you're here exacerbating the situation. Have you no humanity?"
"Gratitude?" Masood scoffed, "We've also dedicated years to the Cyrus Group. The past glory of the Cyrus Group, wasn't it also a result of our efforts? Our wealth of 1,000,000 dollars, we've earned that through hard work."
"Exactly, how did the Cyrus Group reach this point today? Who's accountable? Isn't it someone from your Cyrus family? Without that woman, Eartha, stirring chaos, would the Cyrus Group be in this predicament?"
