"Hehe..." Rachit chuckled and casually said, "Some idiot gave me 100,000 dollars this morning."
"100,000 dollars? How is that possible?" Diana was stunned.
"So I said he's just a big idiot, crying and begging me to help him spend this 100,000 dollars, sigh... Since he's so sincere, I couldn't bring myself to refuse."
"Are you just making things up? Do you think I'd believe such a reason?" Diana rolled her eyes.
Suddenly, she realized that ever since this guy could talk, she had rolled her eyes more times than in the past year combined.
Seeing this guy blabbering, Diana thought he was more likable when he couldn't speak.
Her face darkened, Diana asked angrily, "Are you telling the truth or not?"
Well, seeing his wife angry, Rachit immediately surrendered. He was pouting, "When I was having tea at Fragrant Sky Pavilion this morning, someone found me."
"Who?"
"Someone named Donahue, I think!"
"Donahue, the only son of Hendrik, the chairman of Skies Benz Group?"
"Yeah... I think people mentioned Skies Benz Group." Rachit nodded.
"People mentioned? Why were people mentioning it?" Diana keenly noticed the peculiar wording in Rachit's words.
"I beat him up, so naturally, people gathered to watch, hehe... You know, people like us love to watch a good show."
"Why did you beat him up?" Diana asked, frowning.
With the Cyrus family facing multiple crises, offending the Benz family would only hasten the downfall of the Cyrus Group.
She had been worried lately, and this guy was causing trouble for her. Making her even more anxious.
Sigh... Diana suddenly felt that picking up this guy a year ago might have been a wrong decision!
Mentioning this incident made Rachit unusually angry, clenching his fist tightly. His eyes showed a murderous intent and cursed, "That bastard gave me 100,000 dollars check to drug you and take you to his bed. Does he think I'm useless? Hmph... So, I made sure he couldn't harm women ever again."
"You took care of him?" Diana was stunned.
"Yeah... I made sure he couldn't reproduce!" Rachit said nonchalantly.
"Do you know that Skies Benz Group is much stronger than the Cyrus Group? Offending the Benz family, with Cyrus Group already in dire straits. We were facing enemies on both sides. We might not last a few more days!" Diana was looking gloomy and said.
She wasn't surprised that Rachit beat up Donahue. She had witnessed his violent side at the company today.
"Darling, you have to trust me. If I say the Cyrus Group will be fine, then it will be fine." Rachit said confidently.
Diana deeply looked at Rachit, wondering where his confidence came from.
But thinking about the inevitable fate of the Cyrus family, Diana found some peace in her heart.
Well, let it be, let him do what he wants. Cyrus Group wouldn't last two days anyway. The Cyrus family would disappear into history. She was prepared. Even in death, she wouldn't allow herself to be a toy of Zaph.
But before the end, she would stand firm until the last moment, so she could face her father in the afterlife with no regrets.
Compared to this picked-up husband who stood by her without fear of power and didn't betray her for money, he seemed much better than the ex-boyfriend who abandoned her for wealth.
Thinking this way, her heart warmed. She looked at Rachit with a different gaze.
"Darling, why are you staring at me like that? Do I have something on my face?" Rachit asked, puzzled.
"Nothing!" Diana snapped out of her thoughts. She shook her head and glanced at Rachit. She said, "I have a lot to do tomorrow, so I'm going to sleep!"
"Oh..." Rachit looked at the large pink bed and swallowed, then obediently lay on the couch that was his own.
...
Hospital of the Zintech City.
Hendrik's brow furrowed as Woody had been gone for two hours without reporting back to him, giving him a bad feeling.
Summoning one of his bodyguards, Hendrik instructed him to find Woody.
An hour later, the bodyguard returned.
Hendrik urgently asked, "Did you find him?"
"Mr. Benz, I found him, but..." The bodyguard hesitated as he looked at Hendrik.
"Speak up, what happened?" Hendrik asked with a dark expression.
"They're all dead," the bodyguard said solemnly.
"Dead? How is that possible?" Hendrik exclaimed. Woody and his team were a formidable mercenary squad; it was hard to believe they had died just dealing with some idiot son-in-law from the Cyrus family.
"I found their bodies in a remote corner of Moonlight Bay."
"What was the cause of death?" Hendrik asked, frowning.
"Silver needles. Each of them had their foreheads pierced by a silver needle, a single fatal blow. The work of a skilled individual."
"Could it be that the Cyrus family has a skilled protector?" Hendrik pondered.
"I don't know," the bodyguard shook his head. Then he suggested, "Mr. Benz, is it possible that the son-in-law himself is a skilled individual?"
"That's impossible!" Hendrik shook his head. "If he were skilled, how could he have endured a year of ridicule and mockery without retaliating?"
"That makes sense."
"In that case, the Cyrus family must have a skilled protector. Otherwise, why would Diana adamantly refuse Mr. Berry? She must have some support to make such a choice."
"So... what should we do, Mr. Benz?"
"If the Cyrus family indeed has a skilled protector, Woody and his team were no match, and neither are you. Revenge is a dish best served cold. Let's wait for the Berry family to settle their score with the Cyrus family. Then we'll seize the opportunity to deal with that son-in-law Diana brought in."
"Got it, Mr. Benz. I understand."
"Wait... did you handle Woody and his team's bodies? They are foreign mercenaries. If exposed, it could cause trouble for us."
"Already," the bodyguard confirmed.
"Good," Hendrik sighed in relief. "You may go now."
Hendrik waved his hand, a cold glint in his eyes. Regardless of the Cyrus family's protectors, the son-in-law who had crippled himself must pay the price.
The price of life.
