chapter 4 boyfriend and fiancé

Entering the villa, the first thing that caught the eye was a gorgeously decorated hallway, with artwork displayed on both sides, highlighting the extraordinary taste of the family.
Past the luxurious corridor was the exquisite living room.
Currently seated in the living room was an elegant and dignified lady, wearing a floral-patterned dress and a string of gold necklace around her neck, bearing a resemblance to Liora in her demeanor.
Across from the middle-aged lady sat a young man in a white shirt, with average looks but an extremely arrogant expression.
Upon seeing Liora in the living room, both individuals gave her a slight smile.
But when their gaze fell upon Ravager behind her, their expressions turned hostile, carefully scrutinizing him.
"Liora, who is he?" the young man asked with a smile.
Liora didn't give the young man a pleasant look. "None of your business!"
The middle-aged lady reproached displeasedly, "Liora, why are you speaking to Skulker like this?"
"Mom, how I speak to him is none of your concern!"
"I came back today to let you see the bodyguard I hired!"
"And please, stop bothering Skulker to find someone to protect me!"
Upon hearing this, the middle-aged lady directly addressed Ravager, "I am Liora's mother, Seraphia. You are fired!"
Ravager remained silent, waiting for Liora to speak because he had sensed there seemed to be a conflict between the mother and daughter.
It was better not to get involved in others' family matters.
After a moment of silence, Liora spoke up, "He's not just my bodyguard, he's also my boyfriend. Can you fire a boyfriend?"
With that, Liora intentionally moved a bit closer to Ravager.
Seeing this, Skulker's eyes flashed with coldness.
"Impossible, how long have you known each other? Where did you get a boyfriend from? Don't think you can fool me!" Seraphia scolded coldly.
Liora boldly declared, "I'm looking for a boyfriend. It doesn't matter how long we've known each other. We've known each other for a day, and if I say he's my boyfriend, he is!"
Tension filled the living room. Ravager was at a loss. He knew he couldn't remain aloof now; he had been used as a shield by Liora and dragged into this family dispute.
Reluctantly, Ravager could only speak up for his boss, "Hello, ma'am. I'm Ravager. I've known Liora for some time, but I haven't told you about it!"
"For some time? Do you know that I am Liora's fiancé?"
Skulker glared at Ravager, furious that this fool dared to compete with him for a woman.
"Fiancé?"
Ravager was still confused, but the drama had already begun, and there was no reason to stop now.
He then put his arm around Liora's delicate waist, and to Liora's shock, Ravager kissed her cheek directly.
Liora was stunned. She had used Ravager as a shield out of necessity, but she didn't expect this guy to climb the ladder given to him. Acting in the play was one thing, but he went too far by boldly kissing her.
Bound by her earlier statement that Ravager was her boyfriend, Liora suppressed her anger.
This scene angered Skulker to the point where he stomped his foot. "You... you two!"
"What's wrong with us? Since you're not married yet, we're now in fair competition!"
With that, Ravager even raised an eyebrow at Skulker, full of provocation.
Skulker pointed at Ravager fiercely, "Fine, just you wait for me!"
"Enough, stop arguing!"
"Cough, cough!"
"Has Dr. Parker arrived? Cough..."
At this moment, a sickly voice came from inside the house, interrupting the quarrel in the living room.
Upon hearing this voice, Liora quickly asked, "Mom, is Dad's illness worsening?"
Seraphia nodded without speaking, but her tightly furrowed brows betrayed her worries.
"Why don't we just call Dr. Parker?"
Liora asked, puzzled.
Seraphia sighed, "Dr. Parker is highly skilled and renowned in Chanaea. Every day, many important figures seek his medical expertise. But for some reason, he's stopped seeing patients recently, claiming to devote a month to his medical research!"
"During this month, countless people have tried to persuade Dr. Parker to see them, but he's stubbornly refused. If we wait for a month, your father might not make it!"
Upon hearing this, Liora sighed along with her.
She knew a thing or two about Dr. Parker's temperament. If he didn't want to see patients, could they force him at knifepoint?
Dr. Parker had treated many wealthy and powerful individuals before. If you tried to force him with a knife, you might end up getting arrested by the police, given Dr. Parker's connections.
Seeing the worried expressions on Seraphia and Liora's faces, Skulker knew it was his chance to shine.
"Aunt, I'm here today for Uncle's illness!" Skulker said, pulling out a piece of paper.
"This letter is an appointment card that Dr. Parker gave to an important person previously. I managed to get it through some connections. With this card, Dr. Parker will see Uncle!"
Upon hearing this, Seraphia immediately took the card and saw the words "healing the sick and saving lives" written on it, along with the signature of Vorax Parker.
Dr. Parker, full name Vorax Parker.
Seeing the words on the card, Seraphia's face lit up with joy. "Skulker, thanks to you this time!"
"I'll make the decision this time. If Dr. Parker can cure your father's illness, you and Liora will get married immediately!"
Seraphia promised Skulker directly, without even asking Liora.
Skulker was secretly delighted and didn't forget to flatter, "Aunt, rest assured, with Dr. Parker's medical skills, Uncle will recover!"
Liora was the first to object, "Mom, I don't agree!"
Seraphia was also very firm in her response, "In this house, I have the final say!"
With that, Liora was left speechless, her eyes red, standing in place.
Her father's illness couldn't be ignored, but if it were cured, did she have to marry Skulker, this jerk?
But Liora also desperately wanted her father to get better, so for now, she could only go along with it.
"Stop standing there! Let's go and find Dr. Parker now!"
Seraphia took the card and urged Skulker and Liora to leave.
They got into the Maserati.
Liora drove, with Skulker in the passenger seat.
Ravager and Seraphia sat in the back seat, while Skulker and Seraphia chatted and laughed all the way.
Ravager remained silent, listening quietly.
Dr. Parker's clinic wasn't too far from the Emerald Villa Area. After all, the suburbs were quiet and sparsely populated, suitable for medical consultations, and provided leisure time for medical research.
The Maserati pulled up in front of a storefront, and the four of them got out.
Ravager looked up at the signage above the store: Rejuvenation Medical Center!
But the store, which should have been open on a regular day, had its doors tightly shut.
There was a notice posted on the door, stating that Dr. Parker was researching medical techniques and not currently accepting patients.
Skulker approached the storefront, pounding on the door and shouting, "Dr. Parker, open up!"
