"Boss, no need to say anything about this kind of thing!"
"Everyone has their thoughts and purposes in life!"
"You can't control it!"
"Just try to be more open-minded!"
Ravager timely comforted Liora.
After all, from their previous conversation, it was evident how much Liora valued Rocky, the chief of security.
"Sigh!"
Liora sighed and didn't say anything more.
The group got into two police cars and headed towards the Kingsbury precinct.
Upon arriving at the Kingsbury precinct, as soon as the group entered the police station, they immediately attracted everyone's attention.
"Madam Meyer, did you just catch a ghost from the graveyard?"
A colleague of Alita's came over, looking puzzled.
"You're the one who just came back from the graveyard!"
Ravager retorted indignantly.
Why was he being spoken to like this just because he was wearing a shroud?
"Are you talking about him?" Alita reacted a bit slowly. "He's a witness, here to state investigation!"
"This witness... hmm!" The colleague complimented, then went back to their work.
Alita led Ravager into the interrogation room and made him sit on a separate chair.
Ravager, looking very dissatisfied, stared at Alita, who was bent over the table writing. "Hey, I'm not a criminal!"
Without lifting her head, Alita asked in an official tone, "Name, age, occupation!"
"I'm Ravager, eighteen this year, still a student!"
"Slap!"
Alita's pen slapped the table. "Trying to act young, huh?"
"If you don't want to experience my methods, it's better to answer honestly!" Alita said, clenching her fist, making cracking sounds with her fair palm.
Ravager shrugged, thinking this woman couldn't take a joke, so he had to answer the questions honestly and quickly, "I'm Ravager, 27, a bodyguard!"
"Please tell me what happened!"
"Don't you already know?"
"It seems I need to show you what I'm capable of!"
Alita suddenly stood up from her chair and locked the interrogation room door.
"Hey, hey, what are you doing?"
Ravager felt a bad premonition creeping up as Alita took off her jacket to reveal a white blouse underneath.
"You have a great figure!"
Ravager couldn't help but admire them sincerely.
"Thank you!"
Alita smirked. She had only intended to scare Ravager a bit, but since he was being so forward, she decided to teach him a lesson.
Throwing her jacket on the table, Alita took off her belt from her waist and gave it a hard snap.
"Snap!"
"Snap!"
The belt made a sharp, crisp sound as it hit the ground.
"Don't... a gentleman talks, doesn't resort to violence. I'll talk... I'll talk right away, okay?"
Ravager pretended to be scared, but inside, he didn't react. He wasn't afraid of this interrogation technique at all.
"Why didn't you just behave when you came in?" Alita had intended to scare Ravager, and seeing him relent, she smirked, her lips curling slightly.
"Well, the thing is, Boss and I... you already know the rest."
Ravager explained everything in detail, except for the part about scaring Rocky and the others.
"Madam Meyer!"
As Alita was jotting down notes, a knock came on the door.
Alita opened the door to the interrogation room, and a colleague whispered something in her ear.
"I see."
Alita nodded and turned to Ravager. "I have something to attend to, so you wait here for a bit."
"When will you let me out?"
Ravager opened his mouth to speak, but the iron door of the interrogation room had already been shut.
Sitting in the chair, Ravager propped his chin on his hand, pondering, "What could be making her so anxious to leave?"
Alita left the interrogation room mainly because Liora had finished her questioning on her end and had given a full account of the situation.
Alita wanted to see if Liora's story matched Ravager's. Of course, because she didn't like Ravager, she decided to let Liora leave first.
She would find a reason to question Ravager a bit more and give him a small punishment.
As Ravager waited in the interrogation room, on the verge of falling asleep, the iron door suddenly swung open.
"Your boss left first!"
Alita slammed the interrogation records onto the table. "Why does your testimony differ from hers?"
Ravager was stunned. "Different?"
"That's impossible!"
Alita glared at him. "Are you suggesting I lied to you?"
"No!"
Ravager said incredulously, "My boss and I acted together. Our testimonies couldn't possibly be different!"
"And I believe Madam Meyer didn't lie to me!"
"Hmph!"
Alita snorted and continued to question Ravager.
Essentially, Ravager's testimony matched Liora's almost exactly, but Liora's was more detailed.
The three security guards from the Golden Age Group attempted to steal confidential information but were apprehended by the boss and her bodyguard.
As for the process, it was nothing short of spectacular, and as for the outcome, describing it as nauseating wouldn't be an exaggeration.
Thirty minutes later, after finishing the documentation, Alita finally said, "Alright, you're free to go. You have no further business here."
Ravager got up from his chair and stretched lazily. "What about my boss?"
"She left about an hour ago!"
Alita replied without looking up.
"What? Why didn't you say so earlier?"
"Why didn't you ask earlier?" Alita retorted, not in the mood for arguments.
Slapping his forehead, Ravager didn't bother with further verbal sparring and hurriedly left the interrogation room.
Outside the police station, however, there was no sign of Liora.
With no other choice, Ravager took out his phone and dialed her number.
"Ravager... what's up?"
Liora's tired voice answered.
"Boss, where are you? I've finished cooperating with the investigation!"
"You're done already?"
"I was so tired that I couldn't wait any longer. Since you didn't come out for ages, I went home to sleep!"
Liora's groggy voice came through the receiver.
Ravager hastily said, "I'll head back now... just remember to open the door!"
"Zzz..."
But all that came through the phone was the sound of deep sleep.
"Hey, Boss? Boss, are you awake?"
"Zzz... Zzz..."
Still, there was no response from the other end.
"Are you that tired?"
"You fell asleep during a phone call?"
Ravager sighed, reluctantly hanging up.
In theory, if he couldn't return to Liora's place, he could sleep in his rented room.
However, since he stayed at Liora's last night, his room key was at her place.
Now, he was stuck with no options.
To make matters worse, he didn't have a penny on him, making it difficult even to find a hotel.
"Looks like I'll be sleeping on the streets tonight!"
Yawning, Ravager spotted a chair in the police station courtyard, adjusted his clothes, and prepared to tough it out for the night.
At this late hour, Alita, having wrapped up the case at Golden Age Group, was preparing to leave for home after her night shift.
She hadn't been feeling well these past few days, so she only worked the first half of the night and went home early to rest.
However, after finishing up her tasks, it was already approaching two in the morning.
Walking towards her Audi A4L parked in the police station yard, she suddenly noticed someone sitting on a chair, watching her intently...
"Everyone has their thoughts and purposes in life!"
"You can't control it!"

Ravager timely comforted Liora.
