The twenty-fifth floor of the Golden Age Group building.
The entire floor, apart from a large conference room and a secretary's office, belonged entirely to Liora's office.
Approaching the office door, Liora saw it was tightly shut and reached for her keys to open it.
"Hold on!"
Ravager snatched the keys. "Let me handle it!"
Knowing that opening the door could leave them vulnerable to attack if someone was inside, Ravager insisted on taking the lead.
Liora nodded and stepped back.
Opening the office door cautiously, Ravager peered inside.
The space was large, with moonlight streaming in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the room where only sofas, desks, and bookshelves could be seen, but no people.
Leading the way, Ravager entered the office, with Liora following closely behind.
"Be careful, there might be someone inside!" Liora whispered behind him.
"No one's here!"
Ravager stated confidently.
"That's impossible!"
Liora didn't believe him. "I have a miniature surveillance device hidden by the door. It alerts me whenever someone enters the room!"
"Maybe someone came in and left again," Ravager suggested.
Turning on the office lights, Ravager scanned the surroundings carefully. "Check if anything's missing!"
Eventually, Ravager's gaze landed on the safe not far away.
Liora examined the documents on her desk first. "There are signs of tampering. The top document isn't the one I left!"
"It seems like you have a mole in the company!"
Ravager observed the scratch on the safe with a wry smile.
There was a scratch on the safe, likely left accidentally while prying the lock open.
Hearing Ravager mention a mole, Liora's expression turned serious. "Close the door!"
Ravager closed and locked the office door before sitting on the sofa. "Now, tell me what's going on?"
"Actually, I never used to have bodyguards, but recently strange things have been happening, and I've been feeling a bit scared," Liora confessed.
"It all started like this. I had a document on my desk, and I clearly remember flipping to page eight!" she continued.
"Because I had a project meeting that night, I didn't have time to review the document, so I locked the door and left!"
"But the next morning, when I came back to the office and continued reading the document, it was already on page nine," she added.
Ravager thought Liora might be overreacting. "Maybe the wind blew a page?"
"Even though we're on the twenty-fifth floor, and there's no way for thieves to enter, I always lock the doors and windows tightly before leaving. There's no way it could be the wind!" Liora insisted.
"After that, I started paying attention to the documents on my desk and some project materials. I deliberately opened certain pages and placed a small piece of paper inside," she explained.
"Guess what happened next? Every time I came to work the next day, the paper would be lying on the desk or on the floor!"
Understanding dawned on Ravager. "So, every time you leave work, someone enters your office to peek at business documents?"
"Exactly!"
Liora nodded firmly. "Previously, the planning of some projects at Golden Age Group was unique, but now our competitors always seem to be one step ahead, and their plans are almost identical to ours!"
Ravager nodded thoughtfully. "Does the company have surveillance equipment?"
"Afterward, I began to suspect there was a mole, so I checked the company's surveillance footage at night!" Liora continued.
"But there was no sign of anyone entering my office on the surveillance footage, which was very strange!"
Liora swallowed nervously. "I even began to suspect there might be ghosts in this world!"
"But my instincts tell me there are no ghosts in this world; it must be the work of someone!"
"So I made two preparations: first, hiring a bodyguard to protect me, and second, buying a surveillance device to put by the door!"
"I turn it on when I leave work at night. As long as someone enters, it alerts me!"
"As it turns out, it's a person!"
After listening to Liora's account, Ravager stood up and glanced around the office. Due to privacy concerns, there were no surveillance cameras in the office.
Opening the office door and looking down the corridor, he saw two red lights on either side, indicating surveillance cameras.
However, at the moment, the surveillance cameras couldn't capture anything, yet the concealed surveillance device purchased by Liora was sounding off.
"So the problem lies with the security guards on night duty!"
Ravager withdrew his gaze and closed the office door again. "Boss, have you checked the security guards on night duty?"
"I did. Because the security department works in three shifts with four groups, different people work each shift. I compared them and found that almost every night shift had incidents, and the personnel were different each time!"
"So, I couldn't determine who it was?"
Ravager walked to the window and looked outside. Skyscrapers towered, with lights twinkling below, the whole city immersed in nightlife.
"In fact, I have a way to find out who the mole is!"
"But boss, you have to do as I say!"
Ravager looked at his blurry reflection in the glass, a meaningful smile playing on his lips.
Liora, eager to resolve this troublesome matter, nodded excitedly. "What method? Tell me!"
Ravager leaned in and whispered something to Liora, then flashed a mischievous grin.
After hearing Ravager's method, Liora was a bit surprised. "Is that really a good idea?"
"Think about it. They're trying to intimidate you, but you're not intimidating them back. Does that make you feel balanced?" Ravager raised an eyebrow at Liora.
"You're right. Speaking of which, these guys even sent me a package containing an urn and a shroud!"
Liora suddenly felt that Ravager's method was excellent; fighting fire with fire.
"Then forget about today's incident. When you go downstairs, ask the security guards. Just say you came to retrieve a document at the last minute!"
Ravager emphasized, as the mole must be one of the security guards on duty tonight.
"Okay!"
Liora nodded, and the two of them took the elevator down.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, a leading security guard, accompanied by two others, surrounded them. "Miss Curry, coming to the office so late, is there something wrong?"
Sure enough, the security guards' inquiries were as Ravager had guessed. Shaking her head, Liora replied, "I forgot to take a document. I came to pick it up last minute. Sorry for the trouble!"
"Miss Curry, don't say that. We're the company's security guards; it's no trouble at all!"
"Okay!"
Liora nodded and left with Ravager.
Watching them leave the company's gate, the leading security guard's tone sounded strange as he said, "You two didn't notice anything unusual today when you went in?"
"No, everything was normal, just like usual!" one security guard replied.
Another security guard chimed in, "We brought an electronic jammer. Any hidden surveillance devices would malfunction!"
The entire floor, apart from a large conference room and a secretary's office, belonged entirely to Liora's office.
