chapter 14 Pretend to be a ghost to scare people

by Luke 17:45,Jan 08,2024
It was true that there were security guards on duty at the Golden Age Group at night, but at this time, the security guards could only patrol outside the building and couldn't enter.
"Ravager!"
Liora also heard voices and footsteps, calling out in a low voice.
After calmly pondering for a moment, Ravager felt that things were not simple. "Boss, you hurry up and set up. After setting up, stick to the original plan. I'll go take a look first!"
"Take the walkie-talkie with you so we can stay in touch!"
With that, Ravager handed a small walkie-talkie to Liora.
Taking the walkie-talkie, Liora continued to busy herself with the arrangements. Looking at the lady's shroud on the floor, she hesitated...
After leaving, Ravager put on the black floral-patterned shroud. In the dim light, he looked like an old man wearing a shroud standing there.
"Ravager, I'm ready here, and I've put on the clothes!" Liora's displeased voice came from the walkie-talkie.
"Got it!" With Liora's cooperation, Ravager quickly headed towards the security corridor.
"Rocky, I heard that floors sixteen to eighteen are the lingerie departments. Should we go take a look?" When they reached the fifteenth floor, Miasma couldn't contain her thoughts.
"Let's finish the main task first. After that, you can do whatever you want!" Rocky flashed a knowing smile.
"Hehe!" Fenris chuckled stupidly beside them.
Slowly reaching the top floor, Rocky was the first to enter the corridor. After taking a few steps, he suddenly stopped.
"What's wrong?"
Feeling that Rocky's expression was off, Miasma asked quietly.
"I think I saw a shadow!"
Rubbing his eyes, Rocky stared at the dark corridor. He had seen a blurry figure flash by just now.
Miasma and Fenris poked their heads out to look at the pitch-black corridor. "There's nothing here except darkness!"
"Rocky, maybe you've had too much to drink and are seeing things?" Fenris joked.
Rocky muttered to himself in self-consolation, "Maybe... I just saw it wrong!"
Fenris, who was nearby and bold, joked, "Rocky, are you sure you didn't just see a ghost?"
"Don't talk nonsense!"
Miasma couldn't help teasing Rocky. "Haha, who would've thought Rocky would be afraid of ghosts? Don't worry, Rocky, there are no ghosts in this world!"
"Follow me!"
Rubbing his eyes, Rocky felt that something was off tonight.
The three of them arrived at the door of Liora's office. Rocky took out a key from his pocket and inserted it into the keyhole.
"Gurgle!"
A heavy gagging sound echoed.
Rocky turned his head to see Fenris and Miasma extremely startled, their eyes wide, staring in one direction.
Rocky stiffly turned his neck, his pitch-black eyes following their gaze.
"Ah!" Rocky exclaimed, dropping the key to the ground.
Countless white paper money floated down from the air as if someone were showering money, but there was no one in sight!
It was pitch-black!
"Gurgle!"
Rocky's heart raced, his whole body leaning against the wall. Miasma and Fenris also pressed tightly against the wall.
The paper money kept falling, and the eerie atmosphere filled the corridor.
At the end of the corridor was a wreath, with large letters spelling out "RIP."
"Roc...Rocky... What do we do?" Miasma was flushed with fear.
"Y-you said there were no ghosts in this world..." Fenris stuttered.
"Get in, hurry!" Faced with such a bizarre scene, Rocky quickly picked up the keys from the ground.
In a panic, they rushed inside, only daring to catch their breath after closing the door behind them.
"Gurgle!"
But once inside, all three of their throats trembled violently.
The floor was covered in white paper money, and a woman draped in a shroud sat on a chair. She wore a red and gold-patterned shroud, her face deathly pale in the faint moonlight from outside the window...
"Run!!!"
Rocky shouted, reaching for the door, only to find it locked from the outside.
"Open... open the door!"
Miasma also lost control, shouting frantically.
"Don't come near!"
"Don't come near!!!"
Compared to Miasma and Rocky, Fenris was the first to mentally collapse. Shaking all over, his legs turned to jelly, and he felt his pants getting wet.
"Run faster!"
In the chaos, Rocky kicked open the office door.
Miasma followed closely behind Rocky but found Fenris didn't come out. Glancing inside, Rocky saw Fenris unconscious, overwhelmed by the stench, with his pants soaked in urine and feces.
"Where are you going?"
An eerie female voice echoed in the dark corridor...
"What the hell!"
Rocky didn't dare to care about Fenris anymore and ran.
At a life-and-death moment, notions of brotherhood and solidarity were all nonsense—running fast was what mattered.
Rocky ran fast, but Miasma, being overweight, ran like a little ball, bouncing along, surprisingly not slower than Rocky.
"Call the police!"
Hidden in a dark corner, Ravager whispered into the walkie-talkie. It seemed Liora's performance just now had been effective in frightening them.
"Okay!" A voice exactly like the ghost's echoed back.
"One person has fainted. The priority is to figure out how to keep the other two!" Ravager had been waiting for this moment, and now it was up to him to perform.
"Rocky... wait... for me!" After running for a while, Miasma finally started to lose her stamina.
"Damn! Hurry... aren't you afraid the ghost will catch up?" Rocky leaned against the wall, panting heavily.
"Calm down! Calm down!"
Miasma leaned against the wall, breathing heavily.
Though frightened, Miasma still had her wits about her. "There are no ghosts in this world. We might have been tricked by someone!"
"Tricked?"
Miasma's words suddenly struck Rocky. "There are no ghosts in this world. We were just scared suddenly, completely disoriented, and didn't even notice whether the other party was human or ghost?"
"What do you mean?" Rocky asked.
"We'll go back and find out. If it's a ghost, we run; if it's a person, we..." Miasma made a throat-slitting gesture.
"Go back? You go back yourself!"
Rocky's only thought now was to run, making it impossible for him to go back.
"You better think it through. If the police catch Fenris here, neither of us will be able to run!"
Miasma's voice suddenly became serious.
Following Rocky was a decision they had carefully made with Fenris, but Rocky's actions now were disheartening.
This statement sent a shiver down Rocky's spine. Thinking about continuing to wield power at the Golden Age Group in the future, if things escalated, it wasn't just about wielding power anymore; it was about whether they could even stay here.
"Let's go! Let's go back!" In just a few minutes, Rocky made a decision. They must take Fenris with them.
Miasma breathed a sigh of relief but also made a decision. If tonight's events ended smoothly, she would reconsider whether to continue following Rocky!
