Upon arriving in the master bedroom, Titus caught sight of Leila sitting on the floor mat.
She had a busty figure, long legs, a slim waist, and plump buttocks, and her face was both regal and desirous, a rare beauty that Titus had seen countless times.
Titus stared for a long while before he shifted his perfectly legal gaze and threw himself onto the soft, large bed.
Before Leila, who was subjected to his gaze, could explode in anger, Titus took the initiative, "Before we got married, seeing how eager you seemed, I thought your whole family was quite fond of me."
Titus felt deceived and complained, "Turns out, aside from you, none of them like me."
Exhaling a sigh, Titus turned over and said, "Honestly, you've made me in a passive position, and I don't even know how to manage this marriage anymore."
Leila's face was ice-cold as she coldly said, "If you can't manage it, then don't. Just divorce me, it's a good opportunity for us to go our separate ways."
"Can you not act like a resentful woman? If I could divorce you, would you have been able to enter the Titus family's door?" Titus couldn't help but glance again at Leila's peach-like, voluptuous body, and sneered. "Who can't see that my gaze towards you is full of disdain?" Leila was so angry that she felt cold in her hands and feet, gritting her teeth.
"Alright, we've come to this point, is infighting useful?" Titus waved his hand and said solemnly. "If we want to divorce smoothly in the future, we must present a united front and share resources."
After a moment of contemplation, Titus asked, "Why do you insist on marrying me? Seeing the attitude of your family towards me, it seems they are even more resistant to this marriage than you are."
Hearing Titus say this, Leila gradually calmed down.
The marriage had already happened, being frustrated and depressed was futile. Adjusting her mindset, Leila said indifferently, "To force me into marriage, my grandmother hasn't eaten for two days."
Titus frowned and scrutinized Leila's enticing body, "Do you have some unspeakable hidden disease? Or are you suffering from a serious illness, with not long to live?"
"You're the one who's sick!" Leila's just-calmed heart was disturbed again.
"That's not right." Titus said incredulously. "I'm just a cook soldier, and only became a squad leader when I retired. Your Hodges family is a top-tier wealthy family in Blackhills, and your looks are not bad either. Does the old lady have to resort to death threats? Is she that afraid you won't be able to get married?"
"My grandmother said that as long as she is alive, the Hodges family cannot do anything untrustworthy or disloyal. Unless you call off the marriage, I must marry you." Leila gave Titus a sidelong glance. "What about you? Why did you marry me?"
The atmosphere in the room gradually became more peaceful.
Titus quietly lay on the bed, his dark eyes fixed on the mottled ceiling, "I've been orphaned since I was young, and it was my aunt, who is only five years older than me and not related by blood, who raised me through hard times. For my sake, she has remained single to this day, and her health has been getting worse."
Sighing, Titus said in a deep voice, "My aunt's greatest wish is to see me settle down and carry on the family lineage. I can't bear to make her sad."
Leila's eyes flickered with emotion, but she responded indifferently, "Even if you marry me, you won't be able to fulfill your aunt's wish."
"That's why I'm giving you a heads-up. Even within the marriage, I won't stop pursuing true love. I can't let my aunt down," Titus exhaled heavily and pursed his lips. "As for us getting married under an agreement, consider it a way to bring joy to my aunt. Making her happy for even one more day is worth it."
Leila wanted to curse, yet considering Titus's good intentions, she forcibly held back.
Tonight, the two of them were truly honest with each other.
As long as they tacitly cooperated, divorce was just a matter of time.
At least, that's what Leila believed.
"You saw what happened downstairs just now, didn't you?" In the darkness, Titus suddenly asked.
"Yes," Leila responded lightly.
"I hope you won't spread the word about my cousin getting beaten," Titus said. "We're all family. Let's not burn bridges."
"If you don't say anything, no one will know," Leila frowned.
But she finally believed what Titus had said when they first met, he indeed had connections with Jorge. Otherwise, the elite of the Northern Savage Army wouldn't have made such a fuss over a cook.
Probably, it was all about nostalgia in the end.
"What I mean is, not even your family can know," Titus said meaningfully. "If they find out about my strong ties in the Northern Savage Army, it would be disadvantageous for our divorce."
In the dark, Leila's bright eyes shimmered with complex emotions. After a long moment, she said deliberately, "The Hodges family isn't so opportunistic."
"Right, the Hodges family are all saints," Titus said abruptly.
Leila closed her beautiful eyes, ignoring Titus's sarcasm. She gently turned over, but her brow furrowed involuntarily.
The floor was too hard, turning over was uncomfortable.
In a few minutes, the sound of snoring like a drill suddenly came from beside the bed, Titus had fallen asleep without her noticing.
Great, just when the construction noise had stopped, this fellow started up.
