chapter 7 I didn't do it lightly!

Early in the morning, Grandma called saying she wanted to see her grandson-in-law. Leila, who hadn't slept all night, had no choice but to drive there, steeling herself for the encounter.
However, seeing Titus energetically devouring dumplings made Leila feel a surge of frustration, even a bit jealous of his robust sleeping quality.
Upon arriving at the Hodges Family Villa, just as the two were about to enter and meet the matriarch of the Hodges family, they were blocked at the main entrance by a drunken young man.
His hair was messy, his demeanour was decadent, and though his features were handsome, his eyes were bloodshot.
Judging by his terrible state, he must have not slept all night, just like Leila.
Bang!
Before the two could approach, the young man suddenly swung a wine bottle, smashing it in front of Titus.
Alcohol splashed all over the ground, and shards of glass flew everywhere.
"Leila! If you dare to bring this useless man into the Hodges family's door today, you're no sister of mine!"
The young man suddenly stood up, his eyes filled with anger and even despair!
Leila frowned and said coldly, "Edwin, what madness is this?"
"Am I going mad?" Edwin's robust figure blocked the door, emotionally exclaiming, "Yesterday, the man I admired the most, Jorge, died in battle for his country! And yesterday, Leila, the woman I admired the most, married a man who has been a cook for ten years, utterly worthless!"
"In my heart, you, Leila, are also dead!" Edwin's voice was hoarse.
He had endured too much shock in one night.
Last night, over thirty thousand students from the Blackhills Military Academy got drunk in despair upon hearing the news of the legendary warrior Jorge's death, as if it was the end of the world.
Edwin was one of them.
What made him more desperate than his classmates was that the woman he admired most, the only woman in the world who was worthy of Jorge, someone who could only marry Jorge, married a cook!
A cook who, damn it, served in the Northern Savage Army!
Edwin completely broke down.
Seeing this scene, Titus felt a bit of sympathy for the kid.
Back when he held his retirement ceremony at the secret base, several aloof female officers who came to see him off cried their eyes out.
Now, with the collapse of the two pillars in Edwin's heart, his overreaction seemed quite normal, and Titus didn't blame him.
Drawing circles on the ground with the tip of his shoe, Titus put his hands in his pockets and unintentionally took a couple of steps back, hiding behind Leila.
Then he nudged Leila with his elbow, whispering, "You handle it. I don't know my own strength."
Seeing this, Edwin cursed loudly, "Titus! Have you no shame? Hiding behind a woman like a coward! Come out if you have the guts, and I'll take you on one-on-one!"
Despite the shout, Titus didn't move, instead, it was Leila who strode over decisively.
The tyrannical aura that the sister had accumulated over many years made Edwin a bit timid, but he was still buoyed by alcohol and stood his ground.
Slap!
As soon as Leila approached, she raised her hand and delivered a fierce slap to Edwin's head.
At that moment, Edwin's drunkenness completely sobered up, his face filled with fright.
Standing in the distance, Titus was also startled, realizing his own restraint was non-existent compared to hers, which was purely forceful.
"If you dare to repeat what you just said in front of me after sobering up, I'll believe you've really grown a spine," Leila said coldly. "Now, get lost!"
Scared out of his wits, Edwin scrambled away.
Even Dad only dared to sabotage this marriage engagement in secret, he was just going crazy under the influence of alcohol, without the courage when sober.
"Little Edwin, let me offer you a piece of life advice," Titus said, hands in his pockets, smiling warmly. "Don't pretend when it's unnecessary, it's easy to get hurt."
Edwin cursed in anger and turned to run.
Leila looked at Titus's smug expression and said nothing.
After yesterday's encounter, she knew Edwin definitely couldn't outplay Titus, especially with his loose tongue, which could easily infuriate the hungover Edwin to an unhealthy degree.
On the other hand, this marriage was doomed to last at most three to five months, the guy surely didn't want to offend every member of the Hodges family.
After all, whether it was about getting married or divorced, Oscar, Edwin, and even their father who was often away from Blackhills, were all outsiders with attitudes of little value.
Titus probably couldn't be bothered to waste his breath on them.
"What does your grandmother hate? What are her taboos? What do I need to become to make your grandmother hate me?" On the way upstairs, Titus asked earnestly.
Indeed, he was sharp, knowing who held the key to the future divorce, focusing his efforts accordingly.
"No need to try too hard, just be yourself," Leila said, walking ahead with an indifferent expression. "I believe my grandmother will definitely not like you."
"Then I'm relieved."
As the two arrived at the grandmother's door, before Leila could knock, Titus, with his hands in his pockets, kicked the door open and swaggered in.
