Upon hearing Robert Li say that Alex Ye was his Second Brother, David Zeng was genuinely frightened. He now understood the purpose of Robert Li's visit - to either politely request him to withdraw the lawsuit or to issue a warning, depending on how one saw it. Even if David Zeng wasn't a local bigwig, he recognized that continuing to engage in this way would have led to his misfortune.
At first glance, Robert Li was also angry upon seeing David Zeng, considering he was the one who had harmed his father. However, in order to save Alex Ye, he had no choice but to temporarily suppress his anger.
It wasn’t because of luck that David Zeng has his current position. So when Robert Li made his intentions clear, David Zeng didn't hesitate to agree.
After receiving David Zeng's answer, Robert Li chuckled, exchanged some pleasantries with him, and then left the hospital, heading straight to the sub-bureau where Alex Ye was being held.
Early in the morning, Abigail Wang arrived at the police station. As soon as she entered, she asked, "Where is that bastard?" Alex Ye had angered her significantly yesterday, even taking advantage of her. She couldn't help but feel more and more discontented as she thought about it later, so she came early in the morning to return the favour.
"He's in the detention center," the on-duty police said, seeing Abigail Wang's fierce demeanour and fearing she might cause trouble.
Just then, Joseph Yang also arrived. When he saw Abigail Wang, a smug expression crossed his face. He approached her and said, "Abigail, are you okay? I've already taught that little thug a lesson. I locked him up in the maximum-security cell last night, so he won't be getting out in one piece today. Are you happy now?"
"Who asked for your help? I'll handle my own affairs, I don't need you interfering," Abigail Wang said, giving him a stern look. Then, she snorted and walked towards the detention room.
Good intentions can be seen as meddling, whereby Joseph Yang was left dumbfounded by Abigail Wang's scolding. Joseph Yang angrily muttered to himself as he watched Wang Yu's retreating figure, "What's she so proud of? If it weren't for her dad being the Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, I wouldn't even bother with her." After speaking, he followed Wang Yu towards the detention room.
When they arrived at the cell door, Joseph Yang couldn't help but be surprised. He had assumed that Alex Ye would surely be battered and bruised today. But not only was that not the case, Alex Ye was lounging leisurely on the bed, and even the usually fierce inmates were acting obediently, massaging and kneading for him. This didn't look like being in jail at all; it was more like he was here to enjoy.
"Alex Ye, get out here!" Seeing Alex Ye looking so relaxed, Abigail Wang shouted loudly. This rascal, not only did he take advantage of her, but he was also able to enjoy himself here. What did he think the police station was?
Alex Ye gave a slight smile and said, "Beauty, you missed me so much and came to visit me so early? Were you kept awake at night thinking about me?"
"Kept awake, my foot. I'm here to see if you're dead or not," Abigail Wang retorted.
"Sigh, a woman's heart is truly poisonous. After all, we are from the same family you know. How can you treat me like this?" Alex Ye sighed, looking genuinely distressed.
Hearing Alex Ye's words, Joseph Yang and the other inmates were all taken aback, their gazes shifting to Abigail Wang involuntarily. Joseph Yang was thinking to himself, this seemingly high and mighty girl was actually a little flirt, hooking up with a small-time thug.
"What are you all looking at? If I catch any of you staring, I'll gouge out your eyeballs," Abigail Wang sternly warned the inmates. They turned their heads away and continued massaging for Alex Ye.
"Alex Ye, if you're a man, come out and fight me!" Abigail Wang shouted loudly.
"Fight?" Alex Ye chuckled, "Beauty, have you lost your mind? Do you think we're in medieval Europe? Besides, why would I want to fight you?"
"What? Are you scared now? Man up." Abigail Wang accused.
"Whether I'm a man or not, you'll find out if you try. You're just a young girl, don't act so aggressively and recklessly. Go back and learn to play the piano or paint. Otherwise, you might not get married in the future," Alex Ye smiled. For some reason, when he saw Abigail Wang crying and running out of the interrogation room yesterday, he felt deeply guilty. But today, seeing this girl, he couldn't help but engage in a battle of words.
"Whether I get married or not is none of your business. Besides, I'm not letting you marry me anyways," Abigail Wang retorted.
"Whether you want to get married or not, it's up to me too. If I bring a violent wife home, we'll just end up fighting every day. I can't handle it," Alex Ye said.
Joseph Yang watched their conversation with wide eyes, unable to believe he was witnessing a conversation between a policeman and a prisoner. It seemed more like a couple bickering.
"You thug, you scoundrel, you're not considered a man!" Abigail Wang fumed.
"I admit it, I'm a thug, I'm a scoundrel. So what? Bite me!" Alex Ye yelled in pain. "Damn, are you a dog? You really bit me."
Abigail Wang looked triumphant. "How's that? I bit you."
"Forget it, a real man doesn't fight with a woman," Alex Ye turned his head, ignoring her.
But Abigail Wang still wouldn't give up. She grabbed Alex Ye's arm again. "Coming for more?" Alex Ye said, "If you keep this up, I might have to fight back."
"Bring it on, I'm not afraid of you," Abigail Wang said proudly.
"Fine, it looks like I have to teach you a lesson today," Alex Ye said, using a bit of force to pull Abigail Wang towards him. With a twist of his body, he pressed her onto the bed.
