When Edwin caught sight of Mila from a distance, his entire body quivered. Her figure and gait were unmistakably Mila's. He couldn't help himself and approached her, taking deliberate steps to get closer.

Tom was dumbfounded. He had never witnessed Edwin initiating contact with a woman. Especially after his wife's accident five years ago, he'd become as distant as an iceberg, causing people to instinctively avoid him. Seeing him so proactive now was a first.

He couldn't resist stealing another glance at Mila and was immediately captivated. Her stunning face was flawlessly exquisite as if sculpted by a master, every detail just perfect.

Edwin too was taken aback. However, he quickly regained his composure, furrowing his brow slightly, and took a step back instinctively, uttering in a cold tone, "Watch your step carefully."

Mila sneered inwardly. Her current appearance was worlds apart from her former self. She could still vividly recall the searing pain of flames on her skin, the nine months of agony to protect the child in her womb, and the plastic surgeries she'd undergone after giving birth.

Every midnight, she'd awaken from nightmares, her pillow soaked with tears. Now, with the perpetrator right before her, she couldn't help clenching her fist. She longed to tear his face off, pluck out his heart, and see what it was made of. She even contemplated asking him if he had a heart.

Mila held the lollipop that Mattew hadn't finished, which had inadvertently smeared onto Edwin's suit in the collision.

She smiled and offered, "I'm sorry, I didn't see you just now. Your suit's a bit dirty, why don't I buy you a new one as compensation? Do you have a phone number? I'll have it delivered to you."

Mila's voice was hoarse and low.

Edwin's eyes flashed with disappointment.

Not her!

Not only was the face different, but the voice too. He still remembered Mila's voice, clear as a songbird's, but the woman before him, while beautiful, had a somewhat lower, hoarser tone. To others, it might be alluring, but to him, it was entirely indifferent.

Edwin's demeanor reverted to frostiness. "It's fine, just a suit."

With that, he shed his suit jacket and tossed it into a nearby trash can, as if discarding something repugnant.

The corners of Mila’s mouth lifted slightly.

In Edwin's eyes, she might be a woman who'd taken an interest in him, attempting to strike up a conversation and solicit his contact details.

Mila watched him walk away with a sneer. She wondered what his expression would be like when he learned she was the designer he was set to meet.

Edwin felt an inexplicable anger, unable to pinpoint its source. That woman wasn't Mila, but why did she feel so familiar?

No. Not her.

If Mila knew he'd approached her, she'd be overjoyed. He was aware of her feelings for him, but the woman just now showed no emotion.

Her eyes resembled Mila's so much!

Edwin suddenly halted, and Tom, distracted, bumped into him from behind.

"Mr. Ye, I'm sorry."

Tom touched his sore nose and quickly took two steps back, only to realize Edwin's gaze had been following Mila.

After their brief encounter, Mila headed directly for the restroom. Her steps and gait once again caught Edwin's attention.

"Mr. Ye, are you interested in that woman?"

Edwin shot Tom a sudden glare, silencing him.

"I'm going to the bathroom."

Edwin, rarely seen in this state, turned and strode quickly towards the restroom. Tom, mindful not to follow, waited outside.

Edwin entered the bathroom, turned on the faucet, and splashed water on his face, attempting to rouse himself. Suddenly, he felt a tug on his clothes.

Edwin frowned slightly, turning to see a boy of about four or five, his head held high, clutching Edwin's garment as if he had something to say.

"Let go!"

Edwin's gaze turned slightly cold. The aura emanating from his body would typically make ordinary people shy away, but the little boy in front of him remained unfazed.

Something about his eyes felt familiar.

"Uncle, can you help me with something?" Mattew looked directly at Edwin, his eyes innocent and filled with longing, melting Edwin's heart in an instant.

"Where are your parents?"

"My mommy can't enter the male’s restroom!"

Mattew pouted, looking a little shy.

Edwin looked at the little boy in front of him who looked like a porcelain doll, and suddenly sighed and said, "What can I do for you?"

"The zipper of my pants is stuck, but I'm in a hurry. Uncle, can you help me unzip my pants?"

As Mattew spoke, her legs kept rubbing together, as if he really couldn't hold it in any longer.
