"She bullied me first," Mattew said, a touch of aggrievement in his voice. He gazed directly at Mila with his striking phoenix-like eyes, looking pitiful.

Even though Mila knew Mattew was putting on an act, she found herself swayed by his demeanor. She shook her head and gently chided, "Aunt Lan is just showing that she likes you. What you did isn't what a gentleman should do, right?"

"Alright, I'll apologize to her."

With a sigh, Mattew put away his innocent expression and left the room.

Luna still had a soft spot for Mattew. After all, he was such an endearing child; it was hard not to be charmed. It didn't take long before she started doting on him, much to Mattew's attempt to keep his distance.

The three of them spent a harmonious night together. When Mila woke up the next morning, Mattew had already gone out to buy breakfast, which he had neatly set on the dining table.

"Mommy, good morning," he greeted Mila with a wide smile. His face bore a resemblance to Edwin's, but Edwin had never smiled at her. Mattew was Mila's angel, her angel alone.

"Morning!" Mila ruffled his hair with a happy smile.

Luna emerged from her room upon hearing the commotion. When she saw the breakfast on the table, she exclaimed in joy, "Mila, you're my angel, you bought breakfast! This is wonderful, now I can have breakfast before heading to work."

"Mattew bought it. I just got up," Mila clarified.

While Mila was accustomed to Luna's behavior, Mattew frowned.

"Mommy, do I have to go to Aunt Lan's kindergarten?" His tone carried a hint of disdain.

Luna perked up her ears immediately. "You rascal, what kind of tone is that? Let me tell you, I'm the star teacher at our kindergarten!"

"Cheh!" Mattew sat down, picked up his utensils, and began eating.

Luna was at a loss for words.

Quickly, Mila made her escape from the battlefield. "I'm heading to YH Group today, so I'll freshen up first."

"Mila, you're unjust!" Luna protested, but Mila had already entered the bathroom.

After the morning hustle and bustle, Mattew accompanied Luna to the kindergarten, while Mila made her way to YH Group.

She'd gotten married eight years ago and was forced to leave this place five years ago. As the eldest daughter-in-law of the Ye family and Edwin's wife, she'd never set foot in YH Group. Now, returning as a stranger, she wondered if Edwin could even sleep last night upon seeing the name Mila.

A small smile played at the corners of Mila's lips, a glint of bitterness flickering in her eyes. She composed herself and walked into YH Group.

"Excuse me, miss, who are you here to see?" The receptionist quickly spotted Mila and approached her.

Mila surveyed the grand lobby of YH Group. It was certainly impressive. No wonder it had risen to prominence in Han City. But now that she was back, there was no telling if the Ye family could maintain their number one position.

"I'm here to meet Edwin. I'm Katherine, a designer sent by the American HJ Company. I'm reporting for duty today," Mila said, offering a faint smile.

The receptionist didn't dare delay and promptly said, "Miss Katherine, please wait a moment. I'll inform Mr. Ye."

"Of course," Mila replied, not wanting to cause any trouble, and stood patiently at the front desk.

At that moment, a familiar voice chimed in from behind.

"Ms. Zhang, is Edwin in? He left in such a rush this morning, that he must have forgotten to eat. I've brought him some food. No need to inform him, I'll head up directly."

Carrie hurried over with a thermos bottle in hand.

Despite not having seen her in five years, Carrie was just as stunning as ever, perhaps even more so with her flawless figure.

Mila glanced at her, a touch of resentment flickering in her eyes.

Sensing the gaze, Carrie turned around and met Mila's eyes squarely. Though Mila swiftly masked the resentment, Carrie couldn't help but furrow her brows.

"Who are you? What brings you here? That coquettish look on your face, are you here to find Edwin?"

Carrie's sharp words rolled off her tongue smoothly. She was even a little envious of Mila's beauty.

In every aspect, Mila exuded an aura that made Carrie uneasy. She was drop-dead gorgeous, even more so than Carrie herself. That figure, that face... Carrie, even as a woman, found herself momentarily bewitched, let alone a man.

With these thoughts, Carrie grew wary.

"Ms. Zhang, have security escort this woman out of YH Group!"

Carrie's command left Miss Zhang at the front desk a bit flustered. Before she could figure out how to explain Mila's presence to Carrie, Mila let out a laugh.

It was a smile that could enchant.

"And who might you be? And where do you fit into YH Group? Are you sure you want to kick me out?"

Mila spoke leisurely, a trace of disdain and sarcasm dancing in her eyes. That scornful look irked Carrie, and suddenly, she felt that Mila was challenging her!
